Who we are!

Viola and Harp, based in Vancouver, British Columbia, is your elegant solution for classical-pop live wedding music with years of experience performing all over Vancouver, from the Westin Bayshore Hotel, to the Empress Fairmont in Victoria, to Stantely Park Pavilion and more. Since then they've serviced dozens of weddings and corporate functions, each time curating their repertoire to suit the needs of their clients, while providing highly engaging and moving performances of a wide range of songs, from classical favorites like Pachelbel's Canon in D and Ave Maria, to pop songs like Can't Help Falling in Love, and to current Top 40 songs like Wildest Dreams.

The Duo

Viola and Harp is composed of violist Thomas Beckman and harpist Josephine Lee. Josephine has starred as Vancouver's premiere harpist for the past 28 years, playing at Musical Occasions, Ensemble Sospeso, Parlour Steps, Union Club and the Empress Hotel. A graduate of the University of Victoria under Taka Kling, Josephine has earned her place as a solo artist on Vancouver Island. Thomas performs regularly with his rock trio Sons of Granville (voted second best unsigned band from 2012-2014), and has just finished a new album sponsored by Creative BC, showcasing his arrangement and performance passion.

Viola and Harp provide their own high-quality mobile PA system, which means we can perform literally anywhere, bestowing a warm and balanced sound to any crowd size. If performing under the sun, an umbrella or covering is required to protect the instruments.
