Facilities and capacity

The facilities found at the Markham Convention Centre include unique halls and event spaces that can easily cater to small, intimate weddings or large and lavish ones. These facilities can easily accommodate between 120 to 900 seated guests.

Services offered

Markham Convention Centre offers soon-to-be-married couples a number of wedding packages to choose from. These packages can include a selected menu, service, round tables, chairs & chair covers, water / soft drinks / juices, tea & coffee, table numbers on stands, buffet set up & clean up, receiving table, bridal room, podium, cake table (if required), easel, stage riser, DJ table, gift table (if required) and free parking.

My Son's Wedding

It was a beautiful wedding and I owe this to the excellent service provided by Sunil, Sorilla and Ahmed, who is the Manager. The service level was way beyond our expectations as they were very well organized.
The attention to detail, hospitality, and professional service we received, including the careful handling of the hall setup, serving of appetizers, dinner, and dessert at the times we requested, as well as refilling the dishes as people were taking, showcase the commitment of the MCC staff to ensuring an enjoyable evening for us and our guests. The staff was very helpful and made sure the tables were cleared after appetizer and dinner and in between.
When the function was over, the staff packed all our left over food and helped us load in our car.
It's truly heartening to know that the MCC team went above and beyond to make my son’s wedding memorable and successful.
I would definitely recommend MCC to all my family and friends and request that they work with Sunil and Sorilla as they provided excellent customer service.

Highly unprofessional!

We had our event at Markham Convention Centre on May 28. Everything during the event went well. Prior to the event the operations manager - Sorilla Ulfat was helpful. However it was extremely difficult to get a hold of Sunil Lakhani (General Manager) anytime we called or had an appointment. After the initial booking Sunil did not bother to return any call or message to us unless we called from an unknown number.

The post event experience has been extremely negative. During our booking process Sunil confirmed that any leftover food will be packed up to be sent home with us and so we provided food trays accordingly. We paid for 180 adults but only about 155 including kids showed up. We chose the International Buffet and paid $70 per adult (and any kid above age 5). At the end of the night there was A LOT OF food (pasta, rice, chicken, beef, salad, potatoes) left in the trays but all that was packed for us were potatoes and salad. Multiple guests saw the staff loading up heaps of food for themselves including staff helping at the event in the next hall and the guests let us know after the event.

What is really amusing is that at the end of the event, we personally looked out for Sorilla to thank her for the evening and my wife asked her then if the food had been packed up. She confirmed “everything packed and provided already”. Quite interesting that everything means salad and potatoes.

We understand that the venue staff has to eat, but that should have been done separately from the kitchen and not from our paid guest count. Also not sure why staff from the adjacent event halls took the food we were supposed to be bringing back home.

We emailed Sunil and Sorilla about it first on June 5 to notify about the situation and there was no response so we sent another email on June 11 to express our disappointment. Sorilla then contacted us and she said that she has notified Sunil of the situation and to make amends she said she will pack up food for 8 people in the international menu for us to bring back home on June 23 (again, nowhere close to how much food was left in the trays after dinner).

Afternoon of June 23, I called her to confirm timing for food pickup and she said the event menu changed to vegetarian entirely so they would not have the international food cooked that day but to instead come at 8pm on June 24 and she would have it ready.

My wife showed up at 8pm today (June 24) and she says “you were supposed to come yesterday not today we don’t have the food today”. My
wife told her per her phone conversation with me she said 23rd became vegetarian and for us to come on 24. She DENIES HAVING ANY CONVERSATION WITH ME and we have phone records. My wife connected me on the phone with her and Sorilla then says “I can give you Indian food thats all I can do”. We decided not to take any food and my wife left.

Here is the thing - we are not looking for free food from you. What we expected was for you take accountability and responsibility of what happened and to stay true to your words and not blatantly LIE to our faces.

This is how you go from turning a happy customer to an extremely unhappy customer. You asked for a review at the end of the event, and we held on from posting anything negative all this time.

Great memorable wedding event at Markham convention centre

we had our daughter’s wedding at MCC in November 2022. It was a great experience with lot of fantastic memories.


No doubt the venue is elegant and gorgeous. Location is great, high ceiling and beautiful chandeliers add a ton of grace to the building.

we booked MCC for our daughter’s wedding reception. It was a pleasure working with Sorilla Alfet who was very accommodating to our requirements and played a big role in making the wedding a memorable event. She provided excellent professional service. She also coordinated serving the meals on time and followed up with us through the evening to ensure our requirements were met. Her presence throughout the event and personal attention to each matter is a proof of the high level of her customer service and dedication to her work. I would recommend the venue and specialty working with Sorilla for any event services at MCC.

Had some hiccups but overall great !

Due to covid there were a lot of restrictions which is understandable but the food arrived late which is not acceptable.

MCC was awesome!

Sunil and Natasha were absolutely fantastic. They worked with us on ever changing dates and helped us with the menu options. Sunil also let us use a bigger hall space to account for covid restrictions.

Fantastic and memorable wedding event at markham convention centre

I had my daughter’s wedding at MCC four years ago and we were left with good memories.

When it was time for my son to get married, of course, it was MCC that came to mind.
I booked MCC for my son’s wedding reception. It was a pleasure working with managers Danny and Garry who were very accommodating to our requirements and played a big role in making my son’s wedding a memorable event. They provided excellent and professional service.
Emily who was in charge of the servicing staff coordinated serving the meals on time and followed up with us through the evening to ensure our requirements were met.
The waiters/waitresses were courteous and cleaned the tables through the evening.
Amazing staff and great team work. The entire team at MCC did a fantastic job.
Lighting and sound was well done.
My guests had a great time and gave good reviews about the hall during and after the wedding.
All I have are beautiful memories.
I highly recommend Markham Convention Centre.
