Located in the heart of the romantic Distillery District of Toronto, Cluny Bistro's Private Dining event space offers a unique venue for celebrating special occasions. Cluny Bistro famous for its modern French-inspired food with a twist is not your average French bistro. This vibrant venue features a breath-taking design with spacious interiors and stunning details. The food and service at this location are exceptional. Cluny Bistro is perfect for small to medium gatherings, like dinners, meetings, corporate retreats and social gatherings.
Facilities and Capacity
Cluny Bistro boasts a private dining room that can accommodate up to 80 people The place is without doubt perfect for wedding receptions, cocktail parties, bridal showers and rehearsal dinners. The venue also has a fully licensed walk up bar and the entire facility is wheelchair accessible. The Private Dining event space is available in three configurations. The entire dining space seats up to 80 people. When broken into two separate rooms, Cluny Private Dining East comfortably seats up to 32 and Cluny Private Dining West seats up to 48. No matter what configuration you go with, each space comes with it's own dedicated outdoor patio. The patio is unfurnished and would require rentals from one of their exclusive suppliers. Tenting is also available for outdoor ceremonies. The event space operates on a food and beverage minimum spend. This means that should your menu meet the minimum spend, there are no additional room rental charges. The minimum spend is a published rate that fluctuates by room size, time of day, weekday and time of the year. Please note that they do offer bookings during the Toronto Christmas Market that allows your guests to bypass site line ups and ticket fees. As one of Toronto's most popular dining spots, the main dining room of Cluny Bistro and Boulangerie is not available for buyouts.
All the services offered at Cluny Bistro showcase superior quality. The Cluny Bistro Private Dining Room menu offers a selection of the best of the main dining room menu suited for event service. They do not allow outside catering for this event space. The space comes fully furnished with tables and chairs. Additional rentals for cocktail events can be arranged through their events team. Everyone raved about the food!
A rocky planning process but a wonderful day
However, the process leading up to the day in working with Clunys was very rocky! All of my concerns are not related to COVID at all but basic communication and professionalism. One example is that in writing we were given a date hold while we were all in lockdown and were told we could proceed with a tour and deposit after lockdown ended, I followed up after lockdown and our coordinator was gone our date was sold with no communication. When we did our tour (6 weeks to the event), we had a different coordinator taking us through and she was so unprepared, had no idea we were hosting our event and thought we were “just looking”, she told us information that directly contradicted our coordinator and again made us doubt if our day was properly booked! So stressful!! Lastly, weeks to the event were “found out” about important details and none of this was voluntarily told to us- ie tent outside, had to pay An additional fee not in our contract.
I was weary going into the day, BUT I must say that I was blown away with the event. The manager came up to us multiple times ensuring we were happy, the servers were so personable and created a fun environment and we had SO many compliments on the food and staff.
