After rescheduling and changing all of our wedding plans multiple times, our thoughts surrounding our wedding changed from excitement to dread. All of the changes brought on by the pandemic put us on an emotional roller coaster that both myself and my partner were desperate to get off of. Enter Long Beach Lodge. After discussions with our photographer about drastically changing our wedding plans, she recommended we look into Tofino. While looking at places in the area, we kept coming back to Long Beach Lodge, both of us finding something so unexpectedly charming about it. After reading reviews, looking at photos and speaking with staff we thought to ourselves that nothing sounds better than an intimate beach wedding with our closest friends and family (if covid cooperated of course). When we fully committed and paid the deposit we were expecting that it would only be our immediate family and that's if we were lucky and restrictions didn't change. Obviously it was not the wedding we had originally planned or anticipated but at this point we were just happy to hand over the majority of the planning and organization to someone else.

This is where lovely, sweet Maxeen comes into the picture. From our first emails, to our first phone call every single conversation with her was professional while also feeling like you were talking to a friend. It was also nice to speak with someone who understood exactly what we were going through, as she was experiencing the trials and tribulations of planning a wedding during covid times as well. Throughout the entire process she was nothing short of amazing. Her never ending patience and excitement for us even as I asked the same question over and over again was so incredibly appreciated. With her support, both of us became excited for our wedding again.

Overall our entire experience with Long Beach Lodge, from the accommodations, the food, the staff, our wedding day, everything was so incredible. My husband still says that the Beef Carpaccio (the starter from our wedding) was one of the best dishes he has ever eaten. From start to finish, there were so many special moments for us. From the staff member who called to confirm our reservation who was so excited about our upcoming wedding, to the continued excitement of one of the lovely ladies from the front desk. I need to give her a special shoutout because every single time I saw her throughout our stay she offered up words of excitement and congratulations, just really going above and beyond and it made me feel so incredibly special (I apologize as I cannot for the life of me remember her name, she had I believe an Australian accent?).

I said this during our wedding speech and it still holds true that while this wasn't the wedding we had originally planned, and it wasn't the second one we planned but you know what they say, the third times the charm. How I thought my wedding was going to look was definitely not how it turned out in reality, but for us, it was everything we could have wanted and more. We cannot say thank you enough to Maxeen and every other staff member at Long Beach. Long Beach will always hold an incredibly special place in our hearts.

Elopement package was well worth it. Dealing with Maxeen and the vendors she recommended, as well as resort staff and restaurant staff was a breeze. The Great Room dinner was one of the best I’ve ever had. Maxeen often running around (literally) if she needs to to get things done for you. Very stress free wedding/ elopement for me and I am forever grateful to her and LBLR for that because it’s exactly what I wanted. They made us feel very special and we can’t wait to go back for anniversaries for years to come

My partner and I had a wonderful experience with the Long Beach Lodge events team and especially coordinator Maxeen Laidlaw in planning our December elopement. Maxeen was so responsive and accommodating leading up to our day. When we arrived she met with us personally to confirm all of our details and ensured that everything was ready for the next day. On our wedding day, Maxeen and the whole team ensured that the day ran smoothly - all of our vendors were greeted and guided, our ceremony site was set up perfectly, and a floral arrangement from our family arrived seamlessly. Our private supper table was beautifully decorated and we enjoyed a wonderful meal!
We stayed another two nights at the resort, and it was lovely. Our room had beautiful ocean views, a fireplace as a double soaker tub. We really enjoyed walking the beach daily. The resort was impeccably clean, and the COVID-19 safety precautions in place make guests feel safe visiting. We had several wonderful meals in the Great Room while watching the surf.
Our witnesses and our dog stayed in a pet friendly room, and they had a wonderful experience. Our dog was greeted with enthusiasm by the staff and the room was prepared with dog treats and a special bed and blanket for him to enjoy. The resort is not only pet friendly, but enthusiastic about welcoming dogs!
We thoroughly enjoyed our elopement experience and our stay, and we can't wait to return! Thanks again for the wonderful service!
