Ceremony Options:
- Elk Top Ceremony at Kodiak Deck - Accessed via the Elk Chair, this mountaintop deck feels like it's floating above the valley, offering panoramic views of the Elk Valley and Lizard Range. This ceremony site has seating for 100 people, and maximum capacity is 120 people.
- Lizard Creek Lawn - Located at the base of the mountain beside Lizard Creek Lodge, this lush lawn features a dramtic Rocky Mountain backdrop and accommodates up to 120 guests.
- The Barn - Located at the base of the mountain, near the Griz Bar, this rustic and beautiful setting at a former horse stable has seating for up to 100 and space for more.
Reception Venues:
- Cirque Restaurant & Bar - A refined yet relaxed space within Lizard Creek Lodge, Cirque offers floor-to-ceiling windows, mountain views, and elegant alpine decor. Accommodates up to 120 guests for dinner and dancing.

Picturesque views and a dream day!
We got married at Fernie Alpine Resort in July 2024, and it was nothing short of magical. The ceremony took place at the top of the Timber Chairlift, surrounded by stunning mountain views — it honestly felt like a dream. My Wife riding the chairlift up in her wedding dress was such a surreal and unforgettable moment for her. Our guests were blown away by the scenery, and the photos turned out incredible.
The team at Fernie and Cirque Restaurant made everything so smooth and stress-free. From the planning stages through to the day itself, everyone we worked with was kind, professional, and genuinely cared about making our day special. Our day-of coordinator Lydia was fantastic and kept things moving behind the scenes so we could just enjoy the moment. Before the wedding she also helped with finding amazing local vendors such as florists, photograpther and musician!
We held our reception at Cirque Restaurant, and it was absolutely perfect. The restaurant was spacious, elegent and with a huge wall of window that looks out to the mountains and wild flowers The food was outstanding — several guests complimented the delicious and well presented canapes! The drinks were flowing, the staff were friendly and efficient, the whole evening felt joyful and relaxed.
We stayed in the lodge which was the same building as the reception and ourselves and guests loved the spacious rooms with incredible views, a lovely cool swimming pool for those really hot days during our stay. All the staff at lizard creek lodge were professional, friendly and helpful with organizing our wild families coming together for the special day!
Everything about the day — the scenery, the people, the atmosphere — came together beautifully. If you’re dreaming of a mountain wedding that feels intimate, breathtaking, and totally unforgettable, I can’t recommend Fernie Alpine Resort, Lizard Creek Lodge and Cirque Restaurant enough.

Lizard Creek Lodge - Dryden Wedding
Our wedding ran perfectly. We were both ready to take on any minor or major inconveniences that may have happened throughout the day, but the staff at lizard Creek Lodge took care of absolutely everything. They worked with us closely over the past year to make sure our day was exactly what we wanted. We will be reminiscing on this day for the rest of our lives! Thank you to everyone at Lizard Creek Lodge/Fernie Alpine resort!!

The best wedding we could have asked for!
We truly could not have asked for a more perfect wedding day and we have Lizard Creek Lodge to thank for that! From our first inquiry, to my countless emails and meetings leading up to the wedding, every response was so helpful and detailed. The venue itself is absolutely stunning, and the setup of the ceremony and the reception was done perfectly. All of our guests were so impressed with the food, from the appetizers to dinner to dessert to the late night snack, it was all phenomenal! The staff were incredibly helpful throughout the entire day, and the bartenders were such a highlight (best espresso martinis we’ve had!). We would recommend to anyone getting married to do it at Lizard Creek Lodge!

Amazing venue
My wedding day at Fernie was an absolute dream, everything went perfectly. The food at Lizard Creek is amazing and all the guests loved riding the chairlift for the venue at the top. Everyone was so helpful. I would recommend this venue for anyone who is looking for a non-traditional mountain wedding. Of all the venues I toured and considered this was amongst the most reasonable cost. The views from Lizard Creek for dinner are also stunning. I would recommend timing the dinner service with sunset so that the sun coming down behind the mountain isn't blinding the guests!

Food is fantastic communication terrible
The wedding day itself was amazing, leading up to it was very stressful. My review is identical to the one below. Price increase (from 50 to 65 PER PERSON) for food, zero communication and incorrect information given.
I had more help from the marriage commissioner than the lodge wedding coordinator the day of the wedding.
The food was amazing! The restaurant manager (Darrien), bar and kitchen staff were incredible which made it go from a terrible review to a good one.

Terrible communication leading up to the wedding.
My review is very mixed but mostly full of disappointment. Although the day of our wedding at the Fernie Alpine Resort was beautiful and the venue itself is gorgeous, that is basically one of the very few positive outcomes we had with selecting the Fernie Alpine Resort as our venue to get married at.
Communication leading up to the wedding day was absolutely horrible. We began speaking with the Resort Coordinator almost two years prior to our wedding date. We drove 8 hours to tour what little they were able to show us of the resort. After selecting them as our vendors, agreeing upon costs, and signing a contract is when the communication became challenging. To begin, the Resort Coordinator, I’ll refer to her as S, had very limited knowledge about vendors outside of the venue such as florists, photographers, or bakeries that we could utilize and although she provided us a few options, majority of those vendors were no longer in business. As months went on, S, became extremely hard to get a hold of which made it nearly impossible to get any of our questions answered. It would take nearly 2-3 weeks to get a response, in which many incorrect answers were provided to us by her. For example, S gave us a date that our guests were able to begin booking their rooms at Lizard Creek. When our guests called on that day, they were declined and were told that the rooms were all full, which left many of our guests in a panic. After multiple attempts to get a hold of S, she half apologized and gave us a new date that our guests could call to try and book their rooms again. From this point on, guests were told different prices for the same rooms. S did not take accountability for giving us the incorrect check in date. Being provided incorrect answers from S unfortunately became the norm, regardless of how many emails, phone calls, and zoom meetings that we had. Only a few weeks prior to our wedding day, S sent over our remaining invoice and we noticed that the cost of our meal selected had increased significantly in comparison to the cost that we agreed upon when we signed the contract. Which is completely unacceptable. Of course, we couldn’t get a hold of S after receiving the invoice and it got to the point where we had to get in contact with multiple managers. All the miscommunication and disappointment on the resorts behalf led us to hiring a wedding planner, A. A took charge on the day of our wedding and ensured things were set up correctly. Although S was in the building on the day of our wedding, she made no attempts to speak to myself or my husband. Not once did she give a sincere apology for all of her wrongly answered questions or lack of communication. Also, for those wedding parties who do enjoy having a later night/having some beverages, beware that check out the next morning is 10:00am…. To end this review on a positive note, the food was amazing.
