My aim is to capture the essence of the people and the wedding location. It’s important to capture all the formal things - the ceremony, the first kiss, the wedding party and the family portraits. Just as important, I think, is to photograph the belly laughs, the tears, the silliness, the little looks shared between couples, friends and family. It’s not a magazine shoot. It’s a record of a special day.

A lot of thought goes into choosing a wedding location so I feel it’s also important to showcase that location in the photographs: I don’t believe that it’s about finding that perfect wedding magazine backdrop (unless your wedding venue happens to look that way!), but to show off the wedding location that’s been chosen by the bride and groom.
