Samson and Kelsey Anne were hands down one of the best part of our wedding experience! From the moment we arrived at the venue, we felt their calming presence and positive energy. Not only were they incredibly professional, but they also made us feel completely at ease in front of the camera.
Since my husband and I requested mostly candid shots to maximize time with our guests, Samson and Kelsey Anne worked swiftly through family portraits, allowing us to fully enjoy the rest of the evening. They were there for every tender moment, discreetly and effortlessly capturing all the emotions and magic as they unfolded. Even though they had a packed weekend with 3 weddings in a row, they still found time to send us beautifully edited teaser photos the very next day. Instead of taking much-deserved rest, they went above and beyond, which deeply touched us.
Their love and passion for photography truly shine through in their work. Every photo captured the essence of the day with authenticity and heart. We can’t wait to see the rest. We feel incredibly fortunate to have had them as part of our wedding and cannot recommend them highly enough!

Samson was everything these 2 queer folks were looking for in a photographer. Our photos are absolutely beautiful and true reflections of our wedding day and this is only because Samson understands what it means to photograph queer celebration. Samson was able to see us and our community so well and then show us the magic we were feeling all day right back to us through his pictures. Being photographed by a queer person was super important for us because we wanted someone who would be able to capture us without adding unrealistic expectations for how we should perform our genders or our love. Being photographed by Samson felt comfortable and natural, and allowed us to feel at home in our bodies, and at home displaying affection with each other in photos. Samson was a gift to us and our whole community on our wedding day. It meant so much to us to have a photographer who understood our people and made them feel safe. Thank you, Samson, for using your gift to add to the magic of our wedding day.

My (now) wife booked Samson from across the country for our wedding, and I, as a frugal man, was silently thinking "why can't your Aunt who loves photography do our pictures?" But those are thoughts a groom keeps to himself. On the day of the wedding, it became clear to me why one should listen to his bride, and what an incredible choice Samson was as a photographer!

To begin with, Samson was incredibly easy to work with, he was willing to roll with our lack of planning, including when we couldn't even give him concrete timings for the day. He just smiled, made us laugh, and seemingly melted into the ceremony and reception as naturally as our most beloved family members.
Samson took incredible shots of candid moments throughout the ceremony and our casual reception, and until the wedding ceremony itself was finished and we started doing the obligatory family and friend photos, I honestly didn't even notice Samson taking pictures, but the shots he got without myself or anyone seeming to even notice him were absolutely incredible!

Once my wife and I parted from our guests to do our photos in the Annapolis Royal Gardens, Samson's warm and friendly attitude really came across as he had us posing and laughing in some incredible spaces, and then caught us kissing and gazing at each other while we walked through the gardens. It was incredible how intimate I was able to be with my wife with someone I'd never met until that day standing nearby. The spaces and layout that Samson put together that day captured my bride's beauty and my joy perfectly!

After our photos, we headed to our reception at RoofHound Brewery. Our reception was incredibly casual and free flowing, no speeches, no meal, no itinerary, and yet Samson was still able to capture so many beautiful moments. Photos of my wife's Nan smiling, our children spinning on the dance floor, my father doubled over in laughter, there were just so many incredible moments captured that I didn't even realize had happened that night. Sitting and looking through them all brought so many stories out between my wife and I over little moments that one of us hadn't witnessed.

Near the end of our time with Samson, he asked us if we'd be willing to trust him and head outside into a field by the brewery. We climbed through two ditches into an unused farmer's field, with the sun setting over the trees in the distance, and Samson made light, nature, and art obey him as he took photographs that we'd only dreamed we could be in. Throughout every moment he was smiling, complimenting us, laughing, and just exuding an absolute joy in what he does.

Less that one week after our wedding, we'd not only gotten an incredible teaser album (1 day after wedding) but received access to our full album of literally thousands of incredible photos he'd edited and selected for us. My wife was in tears as we looked through them the first night, and I honestly sat with my mouth open in awe of the incredible work he had done. Our photos looked like something from a movie or magazine that editors and designers had slaved for months over, but it was no more than a moment of absolute ease and joy when working with Samson.

I cannot possibly say enough about Samson Learn and his work in photography. He has helped to not only capture moments that I'd never forget (like the first time I saw my bride) but so many more moments that I didn't get to see first hand at our wedding. He was so easy to work with, and the tireless effort and joy he puts into his photography brought so much life and lightheartedness to our special day. Thank you so much Samson!!

Samson was a delight to work with! He was easy to contact and excited about our wedding plans. He arranged to meet with us before the wedding to discuss our plans and answer all our questions. He's really flexible and accommodating, and a talented photographer! We had a very small, intimate wedding, and Samson was the perfect combination of fading into the background and feeling like part of the family. It was a pleasure to have him there. We are absolutely thrilled with our beautiful photos, and we have had many many compliments on the photography! The price was excellent and we received our photos really quickly. Samson Learn photographed our wedding two weeks ago and we were beyond impressed with his work. Our wedding was a long time coming and a very emotional event. Samson captured the spirit of the day--and of our relationship-- with artistry, wit, tenderness, professionalism, generosity and panache. The man is a ninja. He really knows his stuff, has a fantastic personality and made everyone feel comfortable. Most importantly - our photographs are masterpieces.

First of all I must admit that this review is quite overdue; we first met Samson Learn almost five years ago while he was developing his art and craft and working as a barista in Halifax. Samson had heard that we were looking for a wedding photographer and offered his services. Briefly discussing our wedding and the venue, Samson gave us his vison of what he ‘pictured’ for us and instantly, we knew we didn’t have to look any further.

He dealt with the very difficult lighting inside of the venue as well as unexpected and unseasonal hurricane the day of our wedding. Samson made it work, he found little nooks and crannies to take unique photos opportunities (for example, pictures on a grand piano). He candidly captured key moments of our large wedding party, making sure to include almost all of our guests in his photos: during the ceremony, laughs and toasts in the reception which we didn’t expect, and expressions across the board during speeches, the attention to detail was amazing and unprecedented!

Fast-forward a couple years, and we found ourselves still in awe of the photos, still in absolute wonder of the beauty, the artistic side of each our pictures, some of which my husband uses are professional headshots as he is a professional pianist. He captured the essence of the most important day in our lives. His patience and professionalism are unmatched in my experience. My professional background is in wedding and conference planning. I have worked with many photographers and, Samson is the best, hands down.

Samson was extremely professional and very flexible with meeting times before my wedding and on the day of. He had great ideas for locations, photo ideas and was able to keep my party entertained and focused! I love every photo from our day!

Samson did a great job on our wedding photos, and we loved how the pictures turned out. I recommend him highly. He has a great eye for interesting shots, he was kind and attentive to our requests. We were happy he could be a part of our wedding day.

I love Samson. He's a photographer that is in tune with what you and/or your partner envision. He takes the photos as if he's looking through your eyes. He could charge above and beyond what he already does.
