We hired DJ P-Dub (Pat) and we're so glad we did. Pat did an amazing job of keeping people on the dance floor with a mix of Maritime favourites and Top 40 tunes. We also used Pat for our ceremony. We gave a list of atypical songs and he was so prepared even with some last minute changes. We also had fireworks and Pat provided great background music without notice. We also got uprights which really added to the ambiance and during the dance Pat switched them to "party mode". We chatted with him after the event and he was so nice. The only think I wish is I got a bigger dance floor!

Even though we had a late change of date to COVID related circumstances, Scott was able to accommodate us and provided an excellent selection of music for all tastes.

My wife and I got married Oct 5, 2019 at the Boscawen Inn in Lunenburg. Among many excellent choices we made (Venue, caterer, etc) True North DJ Services was one of the best ones we made. Scott was excellent with email correspondence for months leading up the wedding. He was very diligent and had answers to every inquiry I had. Dave was fantastic in accommodating the songs/genres we wanted to hear as well as those we did not. He took time out of his day a week prior to the wedding to call me so he could build a suitable library for the crowd. He nailed it and it was an unforgettable night. Hats off to True North DJ's.

Amazing DJ!! We hired DJ Sneaky B (Ben) for our wedding reception and he kept us dancing the entire night. We had so many great reviews from guests during and after the wedding about the music and how they found it so hard to leave the dance floor because Ben played one awesome tune after the next. He even included some Greek music for my husband’s Greek family, which was a big hit. Not only was the music great, but Ben appeared to be enjoying himself and totally added to the great atmosphere throughout the evening.
I will also add that during the planning phase, True North DJs were responsive, and had an online portal that was easy to use. Excellent experience overall.

Was overall a good service. Glad they were able to have the processional songs we wanted.

I chose True North because of the positive reviews on this website, having never seen them in action - and planning a "destination" NS wedding from 3 provinces away. They were friendly, helpful, flexible, and adaptable amidst my disorganization lolsob. We had a great night of dancing, which is exactly what I wanted.

We booked Scott from True North DJs and were extremely excited to have him on our wedding team. During our dance someone accidentally spilled a drink on his equipment (which was set up in the middle of the dance floor). I went over to apologize and Scott was visibly upset. We didn't think anything further until we got an email on our honeymoon right after the wedding indicating that we would be responsible for the paying for the damages. He also suggested we could try to find out which guest was responsible and get them to pay the damages. We were so upset and spent days googling and trying to find out how much a new base plate would cost. We emailed our wedding insurance provider but because we rented his services and not his equipment they indicated it would have to fall under his insurance and not ours. When we contacted him with this information and asked if he had insurance (which I'm sure he does as he owns expensive equipment) he brushed us off and wouldn't answer. He was also unsure of a cost estimate and said he would get back to us. 9 WEEK LATER he emails us with a bill. I honestly thought he must have decided not to charge us due to the lack of communication. If this was such an important piece of equipment I find it hard to believe he went without it for the last 9 weeks. I emailed him back indicating I would pay for it as I didn't want to cause any trouble, but sent a lengthy email about how we were upset and how it could have been handled differently. He accepted my etransfer and has yet to reply. I would have at least expected a reply email from "one of the top DJs" in NS. Very disappointed with his unprofessional attitude. Think twice before booking his services.

There is no question that hiring True North DJs for our wedding was the best money spent. Dave was amazing at ensuring that we had our guests up having the best time with us. Excellent service and totally worth the investment!

We were married on October 14th 2017 at Domaine De Grand Pre (in the Annapolis Valley) and Scott (DJ Skills or "Scott The DJ" on his place card...) was our entertainment. Here's the funny thing: I wasn't going to hire a DJ. My wedding planner (Elegant Productions) coaxed me away from "DIY playlist" and towards True North DJS and it is my most treasured "last minute decision". So I am here to tell you that if you think you "don't need a DJ" that you do.

When reflecting on our wedding over the past few weeks we have both sung Scott's praises over and over - Scott was, with no exaggeration: incredible - and this is coming from someone who was going to DIY the music - to my humbled surprise, True North DJs (Scott) became the best part of the night!

Scott took my (pretty particular.. haha) "vibe" and made it into MAGIC. Admittedly, I was nervous to present a DJ with "Motown/Doo Wop meets 90's Rap" but he was more than down for the challenge. The way Scott flowed the evening together was out of this world - having a 50 person wedding I never pictured a full dance floor - in fact, I had made peace with the fact that I wasn't having a "party wedding". Boy was I wrong. Scott has an impeccable way of "reading" the crowd & dance floor in order to make the a mix into magic.

Also, as a side note, Scott is a *super* nice dude & everyone at your wedding will enjoy interacting with him. Plus!

The only problem is that we are left wishing every night was a repeat of our wedding reception. :P VOW RENEWAL!
