We are so fortunate and elated to have found and hired GoldHouse Studios (GHS) as our wedding photographers. I had initially found GHS on Instagram after seeing them tagged by another one of our wedding vendors and reached out through their website contact form. From there, I had an initial phone call with the lead photographer, Mikayla, to see if we would be a good match — she was instantly so warm, informative, and personable from that first call and I loved that she shared a full wedding gallery with us prior to even asking so that we could really get a sense of their work throughout an entire wedding day and reception (besides just the highlights and snippets you typically see on an IG feed). They had even shared a gallery that was shot at our same venue so we could see how it would look for our own day.

We also had our engagement photos done by Mikayla October 2022, and they came out fantastic. It was so hard to pick favourites! This engagement session was key in getting us comfortable in front of the camera as we have never had a professional photoshoot done before. Mikayla was so easy to get along with and her energy is so warm and inviting— it felt like we were just hanging out with a friend the entire time. We also received our photos so quickly after the engagement shoot which was a pleasant surprise!

Now to the wedding day (June 2023) — what a delight it was to have both Mikayla and Nathaniel together to shoot our wedding. We loved having 2 photographers because we know they’ve captured so many different angles and view points of our day that we cannot wait to see. They were also so fun to work with and we loved their playful banter. They also did a great job wrangling together our friends and family for some group photos after our ceremony (which wasn’t easy, lol!), and they were able to get through our list super efficiently so we could enjoy the majority of our cocktail hour which was important for us. We received our sneak peeks less than 24 hours later and we are stunned with how beautiful the photos are and capture our essence as a couple. We cannot wait to see the rest of our gallery!!

My partner and I have nothing but amazing things to say about Gold House Studios! We were especially nervous before we had our engagement photos taken in summer 2020 because it was our first time having professional photos done. Mikayla was extremely patient and wonderful helping us prepare our outfits, pick the location, and settle our nerves leading up to the day. We usually feel like goofy and awkward people, but the photos turned out so beautiful and flattering and we were surprised at how much FUN we had. The experience was amazing and relaxed, and she made us feel super comfortable throughout the entire process. They captured it all: The tears, the laughter, all the intimate details. Our guests kept commenting on how great it was to have them around and they did amazing making sure our long-awaited (postponed three times) COVID wedding in November 2021 was one that we'll never forget. My husband and I worked with Mikayla for our intimate backyard wedding; because of COVID, there was a lot of limited things we could do. Mikayla was very flexible, fast with responses and such a joy to work with. I love all the photos she captured on our day and it makes it so hard to choose which ones to be framed! Gold house designs provided me with a video of my wedding day! Mikayla was the perfect amount of professionalism alongside with feeling like we had known each other for years! I now have the perfect keepsake from the perfect day! I would recommend gold house designs to any friend or family!

We cannot stop saying how amazing both Mikayla and Nathanial were as both photographers and just humans to be around for most of your wedding day. Seriously, they’re fantastic! Working with both of them was a blast, from our engagement shoot with our crazy puppy, location requests around the grounds of Copetown Woods, my strange photo prompt ideas, right down to yelling car for them while they captured wedding party pictures. Mikayla was able to bring together the few details I had with me on the morning of the wedding and bring them to life in a photograph that I really didn’t think I would ever like, never mind LOVE as much as I do. They’re so friendly, all of our guests could not stop commenting on how sweet they both are. Neither of us anticipated being all that comfortable in front of a camera, but with them we didn’t even think twice about it. The photographs are so wonderful, we honestly struggling to decide which to frame, after literal weeks of just dreamily scrolling through all of the photos. Thank goodness for a larger than necessary guest book that is still mostly empty where I can stick SO MANY PHOTOS! 😍

UPDATE: We continue to be blown away by the Gold House Studios team following our October wedding. Mikayla, Nathan, and Courtney were all involved in the coverage of our wedding and did so flawlessly. Not only did Mikayla and Nathan wrangle a 20-person wedding party with ease, every single photo looks effortless and so full of love. All of the candid photos are just as amazing as our posed ones, and every element of the day was captured perfectly, from getting ready, to every hug, to the very last dance floor moments. They even captured moments that we didn't even know happened. It was an absolute privilege to have GHS cover every moment of our day, and we sincerely hope the team knows the joy and happiness their photography brings to their clients, when you get to relive the best moments over and over again.

Mikayla took our Summer engagement photos, and they absolutely took our breath away. She took two relatively awkward humans and made us feel so comfortable, look not awkward, and so lovely. The photographs are stunning, the lighting is just amazing, we love so many of them we can't even pick favourites.
