We are so grateful to have had James as our officiant. He made our ceremony truly unforgettable.

We had met with about nine other officiants before meeting James. We even traveled from Comox to Nanaimo just to meet him - and it was absolutely worth it. From that first meeting, we knew he was the one. Choosing an officiant was incredibly important to us, as they’re not only the person marrying you, but also the one telling your story. Our ceremony meant the world to us, and James delivered something more beautiful than we could have imagined.

James is the perfect balance of personable and professional. He has a calm, grounded presence and a genuine energy that draws you in. You can feel how passionate he is about his work. He’s also incredibly organized and uses a modern, easy-to-use portal that kept everything on track.

He crafted our love story and ceremony so thoughtfully and beautifully. It felt true to who we are, and it set the tone for the entire day. We are beyond glad that James was the one to marry us and we will forever be thankful for the care and heart he brought to our wedding.

James made our day so special. Everyone said that is how a wedding should be. It was full of meaning and some light hearted humor. It was amazing!

James was wonderful to work with. Flexible with our international time zones (planning abroad) and with all our questions. His personal, light, humorous yet special and sentimental approach was perfect for our wedding ceremony. Would highly recommend!

We weren’t aiming for the perfect day. The perfect wedding is a myth isn’t it?! But it was absolutely perfect and part of the reason was the way James officiating our ceremony.

James is wonderful to work with; he was open to being the “official officiant” while allowing a friend of ours to perform part of the ceremony in our Buddhist tradition. They took turns with the parts of the ceremony and it flowed so effortlessly you would have thought they performed ceremonies together all the time!! James told our “modern day love story” in such a way that you could hear our words as if we were saying them. He captured our story brilliantly. Everyone was hooked on everything he said.

After the service many people came up to us saying it was the best wedding ceremony they have attended.

We are both so grateful for all the attention that was paid before the ceremony to make sure when the day came, everything went well. And it did!

Everything about our experience working with James was fantastic! From the first video call meeting, to drafting our ceremony and then officiating our wedding day, James was enthusiastic, professional and a pleasure to work with. He fully customized the ceremony, including in it our love story, core values and quirks. Our guests laughed, cried, cheered and generally commented on what a wonderful job James did! I’ve lost count how many times friends have asked “Where did you find him?!” People were that impressed! If you’re looking for a celebrant who is funny, unique, non-traditional, charismatic and an all-around master of his craft, you can’t go wrong with James Latour!
