Avril Ewing - Officiant & Celebrant

When researching officiants, Avril kept showing up all over my feeds - even before the search officially began. I took this as a sign that she would be the one for our wedding. Our relationship began well and professionally through e-mail. We originally wanted the shortest ceremony possible, but soon found out that, that wasn't an option as we were sent ceremonies that included readings, and a bunch of mumble jumble that we felt was not necessary. I had to completely rewrite the majority of the ceremony, and find my own "readings" that were not religious, and that we felt complimented the life we live. She never commented on the changes, but just said she would print it out, and add it to our file.

On the day of our wedding, Avril was unprofessional to our families and guests, while awaiting our arrival. She insisted that if we did not arrive soon, there would not be a wedding. This caused unnecessary stress to those closest to us. We were 15-20 minutes late, for reasons completely out of our control (the park entrance was being difficult).

My best friend's mom, who is a wedding coordinator had to step in once we arrived to rush us down the aisle, saying that "we gotta get down there or she is going to leave". She later stated that she has never worked with an officiant that was so openly rude.

Everyone (including the photographer) was appalled by her service and professionalism.

We did end up with a very condensed ceremony, but Avril's attitude (including not smiling once during the ceremony) and interactions with our families ruined the entire ceremony.

I can't say enough amazing things about Avril! From the day we asked her to do our ceremony up until we said our "I do's", the entire process was fun and exciting and she really makes the whole thing stress free. She listened to what we were looking for in our ceremony and her readings were spot on. She really makes you feel at ease during a very nerve wracking time in your life! If you're looking for the perfect officiant for your wedding, look no further. Thanks Avril, for being a part of our special day.

Avril was amazing to work with from initial booking to re-scheduling, putting us at ease through a quick rehearsal and then supporting us every step of the way through our 20 minute outdoor ceremony - we are so blessed to have worked with her! My husband and I are basking in the glow of being a newly married couple, and this is largely because of Avril.

Working with Avril throughout our wedding planning journey was always a delight. She was always quick to respond if we had any questions, and her guidance and tips along the way were so valuable, especially when writing our own vows.

On our wedding day, she was a calming and guiding force as she coached us through our ceremony. Though we both had some nerves, she kept us focused. Avril is such a strong public speaker, and she has a great cadence to her delivery. We can't imagine our big day without her, and are so thrilled that she is a part of our love story.
