Last update: November 2024
Owned and operated by Liam Calhoun, violinist, The Fox Music is a strings + piano ensemble with a tight-knit roster of talented Niagara and GTA musicians. We've been performing at weddings and other events since 2015, and strive for amazing musicianship, top-notch live sound, as well as a high level of professionalism that makes adding live music as smooth and enjoyable as possible.
Weddings:
Providing music for wedding ceremonies is our most popular service, and our ceremony package includes 30 minutes of music while guests arrive, any ceremony music, and 15 minutes of music while guests depart.
We also love performing during cocktail hours, dinners, and even do dancefloor sets with a drummer as The Fox Music Band.
Our Sound:
We play lots of different genres, including pop/rock/classical/jazz/lounge/hip hop, and love doing arrangements of songs that sound unexpectedly awesome with a strings + piano ensemble.
Ensembles include:
- Violin + Piano duo
- Violin + Cello + Piano trio
- Violin + Sax + Piano trio
- Solo Violin or Solo Piano
- Violin + Cello + Piano + Drums

Liam Calhoun started playing the violin in North Bay, ON at the age of 7, and began performing at weddings, private parties, and other events alongside other young string players at the age of 14. Always active as both a freelance violinist and violist in different string ensembles from his time in high school to graduation from his Bachelor of Music degree at Wilfrid Laurier University, Liam started The Fox Duo upon moving to the Niagara area. Besides performing as a freelance and wedding violinist/violist in the region, Liam maintains a large studio of violin and viola students.
Zacharia Dekker began playing the piano in Restoule, ON at a young age. After taking the position of principal organist for a three-point parish at the age of 15, he also acted as assistant organist at the Pro-Cathedral of the Assumption in North Bay, performing for four churches each Sunday until moving to London, ON in 2005 to pursue a music degree at the University of Western Ontario. During his time as an undergraduate student, Zacharia became the musical director and organist at St. John’s Anglican parish in Caledon, ON – a position he still holds. Eventually relocating to St. Catharines, Zacharia currently works as a freelance pianist, organist, and vocalist, and has experience teaching piano and voice at Ridley College, Ryson’s United Music Studios, and Musical Affairs, his own private music studio. Having recently graduated from Brock University’s Consecutive Education program, Zacharia currently works as a licensed schoolteacher in the Niagara area.
