TLDR: As the recent negative reviews suggest, Cassidy is a scammer who you should not book for one of the most important days of your life. Cassidy canceled my wedding the day before due to what she called a medical emergency, when in reality she chose to double book my wedding weekend a year in advance and perform services at that wedding instead of mine.

The details:
I booked Cassidy for my wedding 15 months in advance and confirmed both Cassidy herself and an additional HMU artist for my day of services, as well as the welcome party the night before my wedding. Communication during the planning process was seamless, including an introductory phone call and several back-and-forth messages lining up timelines and plans in the months leading up to the wedding weekend.

The night before my welcome party, I received an apologetic email from Cassidy saying that she had had a medical emergency while traveling to my wedding, and since she had to return home for medical care, she was planning to send a different member of her team in her place, as well as the original additional artist who had planned to join her. She also offered me a discount in the cost of services, which we would work out once she was released from the hospital. We quickly worked out an updated timeline for the next two days, and while I was disappointed of course that she couldn’t perform the services, I wished her good health and trusted that I would be in the qualified hands of her team.

What followed was a series of disappointments that impacted my welcome party and wedding day experiences, with the timeline never passed along to the artists, services running nearly 3 times as long as had been quoted, and the artists not arriving with enough time to set up before the start of services.

However, the most disappointing was the realization that these artists were not in fact members of Cassidy’s team, as had been conveyed in the cancelation email, but rather unassociated HMU artists that Cassidy had never worked with and who she had booked 4 days before my wedding (two days before the alleged “medical emergency” would have even taken place). One of the “artists” was also primarily a wedding photographer rather than hairstylist and had just started her hair business a week before my wedding.

This misrepresentation of the artists led me to question the validity of Cassidy’s medical emergency, and some quick social media research led to my discovery that Cassidy had instead performed services at a wedding in Turks & Caicos the same weekend as my wedding. I reached out to the bride, who confirmed that Cassidy herself was there and she had booked her services a year in advance of her wedding.

With this information, it was clear that Cassidy knowingly booked two weddings for the same weekend and knew of the conflict for at least one year, while waiting until the night before my first wedding event to cancel on me. Because Cassidy’s social media also revealed her doing HMU for another Turks & Caicos wedding the weekend after my wedding weekend, it appears that Cassidy chose to create a week-long vacation out of two back to back weddings in the same area, rather than either honor her commitment to my wedding or simply communicate a year in advance that she no longer wanted to work my wedding.

The final nail in the coffin of Cassidy’s mishandling of this situation was her lack of response to my messages for several weeks after the wedding as I looked to resolve the issue and receive the discount that Cassidy had initially promised. It was not until I initiated a chargeback through my credit card company after several unanswered messages that she reached out to try to remedy the situation.

Needless to say, I would very much NOT recommend Cassidy Watt for such important and meaningful services as your wedding weekend hair & makeup and hope that my experience can lead other brides to find a more trustworthy hair & makeup team.

Lauren from Cassidy Watt Makeup team was absolutely amazing! She did all the bridal party's makeup and bride's makeup and hair and they all turned out so well and lasted all night. Lauren was so much fun to have there getting ready with too! Betti did the bridal party's hair and it lasted all night long!

WOW! Is all I can say about Lauren of Cassidy Watt Artistry Collective! I was absolutely blown away by her amazing work. I was told by many how stunning I was in my bridal glam and my make up held up perfectly all night. My hair was still beautifully curled even the next day! My mother and bridesmaids received SO MANY compliments as well! We all felt gorgeous

The Cassidy Watt team was incredible! Kam did my hair and my makeup on the day of and for my trial and I felt so amazing for both days! All of the girls loved their hair and makeup. Hiring the Cassidy Watt Team made it so easy as they are a hair and makeup combo and we did not need to source these separately, made it a no brainer!

My niece was married in august and Courtney Estabrooks was the artist for her special day. Courtney is an amazing make up artist and very personable. I will definitely recommend her for upcoming weddings etc. She did beautiful work we were all so very pleased . I know follow Courtney on Instagram. Truly talented young woman.

The team at Cassidy Watt was so professional and kind. I had Breanne do me and my girl's hair and Madison do our makeup. They both were very invested in all of us getting the vision we hoped for and both the hair and makeup lasted ALL night! I was very impressed. The whole process from booking, prep/research, trial and the big day, everyone was a dream to work with!

I hired Cassidy Watt to do my makeup and it turned out perfect for my wedding!

I had the privilege of having Mia do makeup for my wedding and Breanne for hair! They were both so sweet and accommodating! Both my hair and makeup were beyond any expectations I had! I had a trial prior to my wedding where I got to meet both of them in Cassidy’s beautiful Kamloops studio! They travelled from Kamloops to Kelowna on the day of the wedding and glammed myself, my 5 bridesmaids, my mom, and my 2 flower girls! I completely changed my mind on what I wanted for the day of the wedding and they were more than happy to try something different than what we originally had planned after the trial, which I really appreciated. We all raved about how amazing our hair and makeup looked and continued to look through out the day! I was given a touch up kit that was great for blotting oil throughout the day. They were continually in communication with me through email up until the wedding day! Jennifer was amazing as well, she helped me make a timeline for hair and makeup and happily made changes as they were needed! I highly recommend using Cassidy Watt Makeup Artistry for your wedding!
