Located in Coquitlam, British Columbia, the wedding florist and event planning company not only provides flowers, but also offers day-of wedding coordination. The shop’s designs reflect various styles, such as classic, country, glamorous, modern, romantic, and rustic. Flowerella was founded by Marlee Van Oord, a certified florist and event planner.
Experience
Marlee started working in the events industry in 2010 as a floral assistant at Bridal Beginnings Event Florals. She then went to work at Westwood Plateau Golf and Country Club, where still works as the Special Events Manager. She has also received several credentials from Douglas College, Burnaby School Board, and CDI College for her event management and coordination diploma, as well as her floral certification. Marlee’s work has been featured by Style Me Pretty and Elegant Wedding.

10/10 Day-of-Coodinator!
We found Marlee and the Flowerella team through a very thorough Google search for a Day-of-Coordinator for our wedding. We chose Marlee because her services were local, she has done weddings in both venues, she has lots of experience, and her pricing was within our budget. Marlee was attentive and responsive throughout the whole wedding process. We got to know her more closely 1 month before the wedding when we went over timeline details and vendors. We only got to meet her in person at our wedding rehearsal and then our wedding day. Marlee exceeded our expectations from our various email exchanges to the day of the wedding! She is professional, organized, kind, patient, and efficient. Marlee made sure everything was in order and executed all the details we had talked about. We had a lot of compliments from our guests that said our program was seamless and we personally felt no stress during the wedding day, all thanks to Marlee! We would highly recommend hiring Marlee and the Flowerella team for Day-of-Coordinator services!

Extremely Happy
We had my bouquet and my husbands boutonnière done with Flowerella and both were absolutely beautiful! I gave Marlee a few color options I wanted as well as a bit of an inspiration of what I was looking for and she exceeded our expectations! She was very easy to get ahold of and to work with. Highly recommend Marlee and Flowerella Events!!

Very Helpful!
We hired Flowerella for day of coordination and Marlee was a consummate professional. She sent us a questionnaire and translated the answers into a tight plan and schedule for the day which we are so grateful for. She probably knew how the day was going to go better than we did! She was flexible and unflappable when we had to change our plans many times due to covid. The last change being only 4 days before our wedding. We can’t recommend her enough.

Everything about the florals were perfect thanks to marlee!!! I sent her a few photos of flowers I liked and she put together the most amazing bouquets and arrangements!

Perfect Day of Coordinator & Would Highly Recommend!
A huge thank you to Marlee! We cannot rave about her enough! Marlee was an absolute pleasure to work with - she was not only professional and organized but highly flexible, patient, reliable, and took so much stress out of the wedding planning!
My husband and I could not have asked for a better day-of coordinator to set up and lead our wedding. Marlee had no issues understanding what we envisioned for our wedding and executed everything perfectly. As someone who does not easily cry, Marlee was simply so amazing that she made me, as the bride, cry immediately as I exited the ceremony and spotted her!

Very organized!
Marlee was great to work with. She is very organized and has done enough weddings to truly help the inexperienced bride.
She mostly did the coordination for the wedding and was fantastic. She helped create the timeline and things went very smoothly on the day (at least from what I saw, which is what you want. As the bride I don't really want to know the little details that went sideways)

Wedding flowers
Marlee came recommended to me by a friend and she beyond exceeded my expectation. The flowers were absolutely stunning and everyone at our wedding are still talking about the arrangements. Would highly Flowerella and Marlee!

My flowers
I wish I had looked a little more for my florist . Marlee is super sweet and accommodating but I wasn’t overly happy with my flowers. I didn’t have a budget and I wanted my flowers to shine. I feel that my flowers looked like they were already dying and not fresh at all. Which they weren’t . She had received my flowers on Tuesday for my wedding on Saturday . Plus the colour was off. I wanted different shades of pinks and ended up with purples . I even sent a picture of the flower display I had made as a reference . I do understand you can’t always get what you want. My bouquet was way smaller than the picture I showed her . The flowers looked great in pictures , but up close looked wilted . Oh and the boutonnieres and corsages all fell a part . My mom had to hot glue the flowers back on the boutonnieres.
I paid a lot of money for flowers that looked like they were dying . Plus I was the only wedding she was doing that Saturday so I’m not sure why this happened. I was sad I paid so much for something I didn’t love . Maybe I should of spoken up more but I thought I was pretty clear. Just feel my vision wasn’t fully understood . Anyways day was beautiful and it was beautiful.

Marlee did a beyond incredible job on the flowers for my wedding! She was extremely flexible and responsive to a million changes from me and her prices were very reasonable! My flowers turned out better than I could imagine which is a hard feat when they had to compete with my Pinterest board! Marlee went above and beyond what I had asked for with every floral arrangement that she did for me. I can't recommend Flowerella enough if you are looking for event florals!

I am the proud owner and operator of Flowerella Events. I started my business in 2013 as a creative hobby and have enjoyed bringing my couple's floral vision come to life.
I also offer day of wedding coordination services as I absolutely love assisting make my couple's weddings run smoothly and see their love story develop into their new adventure as husband and wife.
