Unfortunate experience with Urban Beats. They used to be a great team to deal with but as of late they seem to be focussed on greed rather than service.

We hired them for our wedding to DJ, Photo + Video shooting for Feb 2025. We had also agreed to hire his chef and we paid for all the groceries and accommodation for the chef.

We provided logistics and addresses to both venues well in advance however UB’s team decided to stay in the opposite end of the city and chose an AirBnB far outside of the agreed upon budget for accommodation. They also chose a luxury SUV that was not agreed upon and outside of the agreed upon budget. The chef also over prepared the food and we had much more waste than what’s acceptable (nearly double the food was prepared vs head count) - this just lead to unnecessary expenses, however we were still okay with just moving forward because we placed our trust with Urban Beats’ team.

This was later used against us as they’ve now held our wedding videos ransom unless we pay an additional $5000 to cover their entire family’s stay as well as the luxury car expenses. It’s quite insensitive to hold a newly wedded couple’s photos and videos and charge an additional amount that was never discussed or agreed upon. Some of the photos were delivered approximately 7 months later… also ridiculous if you know what they charge.

To top it off the photos that they took were not finished, nor were they edited professionally. There wasn’t even any pictures of the food, barely any pictures of the decor, missed highlight moments. Incredibly disappointing experience and now me and my wife are left with subpar photos and no videos to show for it. Save yourself the trouble, and steer away from Urban Beats at all costs.

Urban beats was phenomenal during all of our July long weekend wedding festivities. We actually booked them for Edmonton. We hired them for DJ services for our wedding and reception. They also arranged for our ceremony horse, dhol and sound. Everything was well organized and well done. We really got the sense that the urban beats team cared about our events and wanted to ensure our guests had the best time possible. Highly recommended by us!
