  Wedding Reception

  We had a member of DJ Kwake's team for our wedding reception because we wanted to have a mix of Indian music and English music. Through out the planning process Archie was a little hard to get in contact with but was always very present any time we had a meeting with him. He was very good at teasing information out from us and his team arrived on time and prepared for our reception.
  
  Unfortunately, we were not able to meet the specific DJ for our event till the day of the event. Which I think lead to a great deal of breakdown in communication. DJ Kwake sent us a form to complete prior to the wedding and attach a list of song that were "must plays" during the night. We sent about 10-15 songs not wanting to overwhelm the DJ and allow them freedom to follow the cues from the crowd. As a DJ the person from his team was very skilled and able to read the crowd and mix English and Bollywood tunes well!.
  
  As for following our requests that is what was left lacking. As the couple we requested in person that he play more 80's classic cocktail music during dinner as some of our older guests were making some requests and for the grandparents we felt a few thrown in wouldn't hurt. This was ignored. Moving on to the dance only about 3-4 of our requested songs were played, my new husband had to leave the dance floor because after 2 hours none of my 3 requested songs had been played, to ask for the 5th time if he would play it. He also decided from 11:00pm-11:30pm to host a "dance battle", which would have been really fun! But he wanted to play 5 full songs and we requested 3 songs because our photobooth was closing at 11:30 and I wanted to go take some pictures. He heard us and a lot of the crowd requesting to shorten this and he blatantly ignored us. My cousin actually escorted my husband and me to our photobooth so we could take some pictures before they left. It really broke my heart to not have all my requested songs played, one of them was "Love Story" by Taylor Swift which is such a fun song at weddings and all my friends love.
  
  The end of this long tail is! DJ Kwake is a very organized and skilled company to work with. With very skilled DJs on his team. Just be very clear at the beginning of your expectations. Or minimize them as much as possible because they may not be followed. But they will keep the party going!

  DJ Kwake Entertainment

  Music is very important to us so we knew we wanted to book DJ Kwake for our wedding as he has years of experience. From the ceremony to the cocktail hour and finally, the reception, he set the perfect tone for every moment. What blew us away was how he had the dance floor packed all night long! We were expecting people to dance but it was amazing to see literally everyone get up and join us after our first dance. We will remember that moment forever. His ability to read the crowd and keep the energy high was incredible. If you want a DJ who knows how to set the mood and get the party started, we highly recommend Archie!

  Kwake is Great!

  We had an associate from Kwake Entertainment DJ our wedding. She understood exactly what we were going for and did an awesome job at taking all the requests. I know we had some rowdy guests with obscure requests, but she truly did it all! I would definitely recommend them for any wedding in Edmonton. They are well known and awesome to work with. Thanks for making the evening so memorable!!

  #1 DJ For a Reason

  I cant stress this enough you get what you pay for and cheaping out on a dj wont get you a party of a lifetime! My husband and I cant express how grateful to DJ Kwake and his team for making our evening we couldn’t forget! Our wedding was a couple weeks ago and people are still complimenting the dj for setting the vibe and getting them up to the dance floor for an unforgettable night!

  DJ Kwake or Bust

  We loved having DJ Kwake at our wedding! He's a blast and knows how to read a room to get the people dancing all night! He also helped save our reception by providing us extra microphones for speeches and my MCs. Definitely recommend a DJ for either ceremony or reception or both as you will not regret it. Thanks again Kwake!

  Great DJ for Events!

  Our DJ was amazing, we didn’t have a lot of people hitting the dance floor but not due to the skill our dj had. They followed our list perfectly and made our night fantastic!

  Very frustrating Experience

  Our experience with DJ Kwake was not a good one.
  This service was recommended to us by our venue, River's Edge.
  I will say the DJ we had at our wedding was great, but our negative experiences trying to contact this company and with our photo booth do not make up for it.
  First, we found Archie very difficult to get ahold of. I sent numerous emails to the provided email and through the contract form and never got any responses. We finally got a hold of him a week before our wedding, even though he said he would contact us two weeks before to review the plan, and he said he did not receive any of the emails I had sent. However, if the emails were related to a payment, I always got a response.
  Our worst experience was with the photo booth. We got the digital print photo booth all night, however, we were dismayed the next day to learn from our guests that the photo booth had been left in demo mode the entire evening and every photo had "this is a demo" written overtop of it. I sent some emails about it when we were on our honeymoon, and again, got no response. When we got back, I called Archie about this, and in my conversation with him he blamed me and my husband for not noticing, even though we were extremely busy that day, and then proceeded to blame the first guests who used the photo booth referring to them as "some kids". I asked for the demo photos even though they are not usable, and can clearly see that the first people to use the photo booth were some of our pharmacy colleagues, who are definitely not children. Regardless of whether they were children, I do not think it should have been our guest's responsibility to set up the photo booth correctly. He also told me that he had set up the photo booth himself and taken a photo in the correct mode, but I met the female employee who set up the photo booth and the DJ, and neither of them were the owner (Archie) who claimed he had been there. It is really off-putting to be lied to rather than for him to have taken responsibility for this mistake. Having a photo booth was very important to us, but because of this mistake no one was able to share photos from our wedding nor can I add them to the guestbook as intended. I think the appropriate response, in this case, would have been to offer us a refund, rather than trying to place the blame elsewhere. We choose this photo booth service over others, because we thought it would be easier to have fewer vendors, but instead, we received no usable photos. Some guests even told me that they just assumed we had gotten the photo booth for free, which is not the vibe we were trying to convey at our >$30000 wedding.
  During my last communication, Archie told me he would contact the photo booth company to see if they would be able to remove the text, but I have attempted to follow up with him twice and still have not received a response. At this point, it has been over 6 months since our wedding, and we do not have much use for them anyways.
