The View on Lonsdale is a banquet hall wedding venue located in North Vancouver, British Columbia. This environmentally friendly, contemporary, and versatile property boasts a myriad of alluring and quirky features which make it a truly distinctive place to host a once-in-a-lifetime celebration. Featuring several levels, the top floor affords the couple and their guests with panoramic views of the city as well as the Pacific Ocean.
Facilities and Capacity
From the outside, this location catches the eye with its modern design and stylish architecture. Featuring glass, recycled wood, and elements of metal, it is a multifaceted building that combines numerous materials for a unique look. Upon entry, everyone is greeted by an inviting lobby space which would be an ideal place to enjoy a cocktail hour. What’s more, the Gordon Smith Gallery makes for a suitable place to mix and mingle surrounded by artistry and sophistication. For the all-important ceremony, an onsite park provides a charming area where the couple can say “I do” and hand each other their special rings. Underneath the stone archway, the to-be-weds can stand as their guests share the special moment. After the milestone moment has taken place and the couple has become newlyweds, the wedding party can make their way to celebrate the reception.
Undoubtedly, the fifth floor is the venue’s pièce de résistance as it is where the partying and revelries can take place. A multifaceted event area, it provides breathtaking views of different scenery—ocean, mountains, and sky. Separated by retractable walls into three different areas, it can become one single area when these are removed. A deck area/roof patio is also available to make use of. Overall, the capacity of The View on Lonsdale is between 50 and 245 people, making it suitable for intimate or lavish gatherings.
Owing to a range of package choices, the happy couple can select the one that best suits their preferences. An event planning service is offered to ease your stress, while event rentals such as chairs, tables, lighting, and audio equipment are available. Setup and cleanup services are also available, while talented professionals and companies are welcome on site to add bespoke touches to the wedding-day experience.
The View on Lonsdale’s partnership with Forage Catering allows them to provide a delightful culinary experience for couples and guests. Harnessing local produce, they also aim for organic ingredients to create dishes that are as expertly crafted as they are palate-pleasing. Hors d’oeuvres, plated meals, buffet selections, family-style fare, and much more can be presented. In addition, beer, wine, Champagne, and specialty drinks can be served up.

My only complaint, and it's minor, was the bartenders provided by The View opened up bottles of liquor (so they would be easy to open on pour later) in advance. By opening them early it meant we could not return the product to the liquor store.
The View is the BEST!
Would do it all again in a heartbeat!

In addition, during the set up and the event the entire Forage Catering team was fantastic. All of the staff truly went above and beyond. Everyone seemed to really care about the event, was professional, kind, helpful and friendly. The venue is great, the food was amazing, the crew was awesome and we could not have asked for anything different for our wedding. Highly recommended!!

Meet the team
Chef Welbert Choi is quietly driven. Everything he does is steeped in his innate creativity.
Welbert was born in Hong Kong. He and his family moved to North Burnaby during his teenage years. He trained at Dubrulle Culinary Institute. His resume includes catering at the Hilton Burnaby, working in the kitchen at Opus’s former restaurant Elixir, and he helped open Forage in 2012 as Pastry Chef. After 2 years, he was given the title of Forage’s Chef de Cuisine. He has run daily operations in the Forage kitchen since that time. Now he is the Executive Chef of Forage, Timber, and Forage Catering.
He believes that it is the responsibility of all Vancouver chefs to help build long term farming, fishing and foraging legacies in BC for generations to come by working closely with local producers.
