Our wedding was amazing. Everything ran so smoothly and our maitre'd really worked hard to ensure things happened on time. She made sure everything was just right, and we appreciate all of the hard work. From booking to planning a wedding in 4 months, Carmen's really took care of a lot for us. The food was absolutely delicious and I am so happy with the selections we made during the tasting. The wedding cake was also delicious. Overall, our wedding day went perfectly and a huge part of this is thanks to this wonderful venue! Special shout out to Jenna for answering all of my questions leading up to the big day.

We had our wedding at The Lakeview on October 27th, we had an amazing day! Everything ran so smooth, our Maitre' D was wonderful, she was there to ensure everything ran as it should, everything was on time, she was fabulous, I don't know what we would have done without her. Along the planning process, we had our Coordinator who was there every step of the way for us to ask questions, run ideas past, we dealt with Alessia & then Jenna, they were both great! I would not have changed anything, everything fell into place so nicely, we had a fantastic day & night, definitely a day we will not forget. The only complaint that we do have, as well as many of our guests was the older gentlemen bartender was not friendly, he didn't smile, barely said 2 words to anyone, didn't look you in the eyes, don't get me wrong the drinks were flowing, but friendly service would have been nice. Even as the Bride going up to the bar, he didn't smile, didn't say thank you, didn't even look at me, didn't say your welcome. They would have gotten many more tips from guests if he was more friendly. We had multiple guests say they didn't end up tipping because he was rude, which is very unfortunate. That is not something we want our guests to remember. Other then that, everything else was fantastic!

Amazing venue and service! Our day was made extra special by the staff and their attention to details and to us.

I cannot recommend this venue enough! I got married here on April 1, 2023 and it was the wedding of my dreams. The whole planning process with this venue was so seamless and made me a stress free bride. Alessia was so attentive during the planning process. My maître D on the day of Gonia was amazing. My wedding was perfect. The food, staff, dj and of course location was perfect. My guests were coming up to me all night to say it was one of the best weddings they’ve been to. I totally recommend.

Between the all-inclusive aspect of the venue and the view, we could not pass up booking this venue.

Through the venue, we were able to book our DJ, cake, decor, food, and drinks. It made wedding planning so easy! They had easy to follow deadlines and paperwork that made decision making simple and stress-free.

The night of our rehearsal, we dropped off everything we wanted set up and told our maitre d exactly where we wanted it. They did a great job at setting it all up for us, making our wedding morning incredible stress-free. The DJ was fantastic and played all of our requests. We got so many compliments on the food and the decor as well!

Only two small things went wrong, which with such a big event is a win in my book. A lot of staff changes happened over the pandemic, meaning that our coordinator changed quite often. We were not informed of these changes, so when I would email to ask questions, I would not receive a response. I didn't know it at the time, but it was because that person did not work there any more! That happened several times, but we ended up with Alessia as our coordinator and could not have been happier about that. The second is that the reception ended very abruptly. After the last song (which we didn't know was the last song) the music just ended and the lights immediately came on. Not a big deal, but was jarring. I would just recommend asking the coordinator or DJ to announce the last song to avoid this.

Overall, we are incredibly happy with our experience.

Overall, we had a great experience working with the team at The Lakeview. They were very helpful with planning and answering any questions that we had, especially since our wedding was postponed by a year due to COVID. The team was overall friendly to work with. One difficulty that we had was with the continuity of staff, which we realize is not fully in the control of the venue, but did make communications a bit more challenging. Clearer communication regarding any staffing changes would have been more helpful to not feel out of the loop.

One major upside to picking The Lakeview as a vendor is that the package included so many different things, including but not limited to: food, cake, some decor items, a honeymoon suite, a wedding coordinator, a maitre-d, etc. This made the overall planning a lot easier as we weren't juggling a ton of different vendors.

We just had our wedding at The Lakeview last night and all I can say is wow.
Everything was amazing. Our Maître D’ was Gonia and she was absolutely amazing. So organizer and an absolute pleasure to work with. The night went off with no issues even though as the bride I was running behind.
The food was amazing. We had the Caesar salad, penne a la vodka, beef medallion, and a peach crumble. Our late night buffet was pizza and our wedding cake. Everything was delicious and our guests ate everything.
We chose to use the in house DJ; the process for sending our music list over was super easy and coordination was on point all night with our MC.

A huge thanks to Charlie, Alessia and Gonia for helping me have the wedding of my dreams planned in less than 6 weeks!!!

To The Carmens Team at Lakeview, I am so happy with our decision to go with Lakeview. From the first initial meeting with Charlie to the private and detailed discussion with the staff, this was the most effortless process a bride and groom can undergo. The decor included is perfect, and many choices to pick from. The staff was so pleasant and respectful of all guests. The food was so delicious!!!! The number of compliments we received was so lovely to hear. The venue worked well with other vendors to make it effortless for the bride and groom. We are pleased and thankful to everyone at Lakeview, we had such a fantastic time, and we are so blessed for that service and memories. Thank you

Where do I even begin? To all the "Pandemic Bride & Grooms" out there - do not be turned off by the idea that your wedding won't be perfect with restrictions, especially if you book with The Lakeview by Carmen's. Charlie & Natasha were there for us every step of the way leading up to our big day and Gonia was so wonderful to work with as our Maitre D'.

Not only were they SUPER flexible with our package when restrictions changed our plans, they reassured us that no matter what we'd have an amazing day. Turns out, they were right.

To give you an idea, our New Year's Eve wedding had the following provincially mandated restrictions:
-no dancing
-the reception had to be seated with the exception of first dances
-no going to the bar for drinks
-we needed to be out of the venue by 11pm

Sounds like a recipe for a pretty disappointing NYE party right? Wrong! The Lakeview did everything they possibly could to accommodate us and ensure we had the best night. They gave us table service, which turned out to be amazing. Our guests have told us how incredible and quick the service was , saying they never had to wait to order drinks because the staff came around so often to take orders.

After the reception ended at 11pm my husband and I, along with several of our guests went outside and rang in the new year complete with music, fireworks and the lake as our backdrop. I truly would not change a thing if given the choice.

The location is beautiful. the space is elegant, the food is DELICIOUS and the staff are simply the best I've encountered (and that's saying a lot as I've been to many weddings over the years as a wedding photographer)
Their attention to detail and safety made our day as stress free as you can get.

We can't thank the Lakeview enough for everything they did. If you are hesitant to book - don't put your life on hold. No one knows what tomorrow will bring, take the plunge and marry the love of your life..and do it with the best in the business - The Lakeview!!

Good day to you Lakeview and review readers of all stripes! I am not normally one to post reviews but in this case I felt I could not withhold. And so, strap in, forge on & please enjoy this cautionary tale:

We picked Sept. 11 because Lakeview was offering a “free ceremony” if we booked on a remaining Friday in 2020. Their packages also included discounted pricing for children & vendors. We booked for 100 guests, a beachfront ceremony & indoor reception. Our contract stated “no charge” for the ceremony.

In March 2020, Covid-19 hit. To be fair, that obviously had a major effect on Lakeview’s ability to conduct business & complicated matters for all involved. Lakeview began dropping the ball on communication. We're talking weeks with unreturned emails & phone calls. We got the feeling they were too busy for us, but we should have been part of their busyness. We diligently continued to pay our instalments.

Close to September, Lakeview agreed to do a beach front ceremony with 100 & the indoor reception with 50. However, this changed the contract. Their hands were tied on it legally & they offered to refund us half of the cost of the reception.

But the poor communication continued:
-We were originally promised a tasting to choose the menu for dinner. They wavered on the date & existence of our tasting for the month until the wedding, finally agreeing to hand us take-out containers out the back door of the venue a week before our wedding. Despite this, the food was quite delicious & we made our selections.

-We met with the maitre'd for the first time the day before our wedding & heard some new information. We were also told that they would only use the outdoor wedding arbour if there was no wind (sure enough, there was wind on the water front in September. This means we also ended up wasting money on a florist & designer). It strikes us as odd that they would not have an arbour structure available that could anchor into the sand, somehow.

Weeks after the wedding, we realized they still hadn't sent us the final invoice. On Oct 1 we emailed our contact for it. We heard nothing, so we reached out to other staff on Oct 6. On Oct 8, we finally received it.

There were some minor additions to our wedding package. With the Covid changes down to 50 guests, they agreed to refund approximately $6k off the original cost. With additions & final charges, it worked out to a total of about $7.8k. Up to the wedding date we had paid $10.5k, so they actually owed us $2766.42.

The final invoice they sent said that they owed us $500! They were now charging us for the "no charge” ceremony ($1850!) & charged us adult pricing for children & vendors ($100 extra). They said that they were now charging us full price for the children & vendors, and the beachfront ceremony was now no longer free. None of these changes were discussed or negotiated with us.

We contested these changes. Lakeview took 3 weeks to respond to us, lying & trying to convince us there was no “free ceremony” offer back in January 2020. We also argued that there was no discussion of charging everyone adult pricing, nor us having to pay for the beachfront ceremony with reduced capacity.

Lakeview took another week to reply to my push-back & decided to give us another $1000 & an $100 gift card to their restaurant.

And here we are, a year after this saga began & we are still owed $1100. Unfortunately, the knowledge of this & the feeling of being cheated puts a damper on our wedding day experience at Lakeview. Please use caution when you deal with them, if you deem it appropriate to deal with them at all. Expect to experience delayed & half-hearted communication, added stress close to your wedding day & the very real possibility of being ripped off like we were. If you do choose to go with them, take screenshots of literally everything, including any offers they may be having at the time, get everything in writing & record every phone call. We hope no one else will have the same experience that we did.
