The Knox Wedding & Event Venue is a banquet hall located in Merrickville, Ontario. This elegant and sophisticated property successfully marries the old with the new in pleasing ways. Once upon a time, it was a Presbyterian church built in 1861, but it has been repurposed to host ceremonies, receptions, and other significant events.
Facilities and Capacity
The exterior of The Knox Wedding & Event Venue catches the eye with its beautiful red-brick finish that is sure to appeal to many. This distinctive feature makes this building more than fitting as a backdrop for photos. Couples and guests are welcome to pose together before and after the main event as everyone savours the once-in-a-lifetime occasion. The 3,300 square feet of open-air space also encompasses a delightful garden. There is even more to appreciate inside the 1,200 square-foot main area. The beautiful white colour scheme provides a serene setting for the romantic ‘I-do’ occasion. Boasting Gothic windows and charming light fixtures, it offers a simply gorgeous place for two people to begin the first chapter of their married lives. The wedding party can share the moment inside this intimate and inviting function area as the vows are caught on camera to be replayed at a later date. When the time comes for the all-important reception, the same space may be arranged appropriately for more mingling, new memories, and some party festivities. Overall, the maximum capacity of The Knox Wedding & Event Venue is for 80 people. As the afternoon drifts towards the evening, everyone can savour some culinary delights, get lost in conversation, and enjoy the one-of-a-kind nature of the milestone.

An amazing venue with amazing staff
One of the biggest reasons we chose The Knox was the freedom it gave us. We were able to create the wedding of our dreams exactly the way we envisioned it, from selecting our own caterers and bar service to choosing our florals, décor, and music. Nothing was restricted, unlike many venues that require in-house food, alcohol, or specific vendors. The Knox truly allowed us to craft our day our way.
Aside from the venue itself, Michelle and the staff were truly incredible. Michelle is such a warm, welcoming person, an absolute joy to work with from our very first meeting to the check-ins as our wedding day approached. We felt genuinely supported by her, and her experience and knowledge were invaluable in helping us plan our big day.
On the day of our wedding, Sydney was the staff member assisting us, and she was an absolute angel. As life happens, our DJ was running late due to circumstances beyond their control. Sydney immediately stepped in, took charge of the situation, and transformed what could have been a nightmare for any bride into the most seamless and beautiful ceremony we could have imagined. She listened to exactly what we needed and made it happen effortlessly, no one had any idea that anything behind the scenes was amiss.
The entire day went flawlessly. Our photos, both inside and outside the venue, were absolutely stunning, and the town of Merrickville itself was warm, welcoming, and beautiful. We truly could not have asked for a better place to celebrate the beginning of our life together. We 100% recommend The Knox.

What really set The Knox apart was the team. From our very first tour right through to the last minutes of our wedding night, they were phenomenal — attentive, kind, and truly invested in making our day special. When my makeup artist unexpectedly ghosted me, Michelle even stepped in to help me find an alternative on very short notice. That level of support went far beyond our expectations.
The bridal suite was an absolute dream and gave us a much-needed private spot to take a quiet moment together throughout the day.
The only limitation to be aware of is that, due to local noise bylaws, events must wrap up by 10:30pm. That said, the team was very clear about this from the start and even suggested nearby spots where guests could continue the celebration afterward - we highly recommend the Goose & Gridiron pub down the street!
