If you want to cry a dozen times before your wedding day, book here

I wish I could give zero stars; this is the worst venue I have ever dealt with and caused ended nights of frustration and mental distress. We used to attend events here regularly and it was a great venue (hence many previous positive reviews), but in 2020 the ownership changed and it has been awful since then.

Leading up to our event day, the venue kept adding additional costs without any reason and without any discussion. We ended up paying THOUSANDS of extra costs in the last two weeks leading up to our wedding - no discussion, just added costs without any explanation! For example, we had a minimum of 200 guests, and ended up with less than that. Not a problem, we'll pay the minimum. Then when they learned there were children attending they said they did not count in those 200 minimum guests so too bad - time to pay more! Every single item was nickel and dime'd for for our wedding.

An event coordinator? Not a chance at this venue. In the days leading up to the event we had to do every single thing in the venue, and had zero support.

We were frightened as to whether the doors would even be open on the day of the wedding and there were countless nights with no sleep, including every week leading up to our wedding day, worried about what the venue was going to pull next on us.

If you want to experience emotional trauma from trying to enjoy your happy day, this is the place for it.

Don't even go here for your wedding.

Absolutely Amazing!

I would recommend this venue to everyone! Josie was absolutely amazing and helped make our wedding planning process very easy. She made our wedding day on September 7th worry free and a day to remember. Our guests cannot stop raving about how amazing the food was for our wedding. We went with the buffet option because it provided our guests with variety. The open bar was also great! We definitely got more than our money’s worth! What a day to remember

Don't do me any favors with my hard earned money.

This place was recommended, but unfortunately was not what I would like.
The communication was terrible, I sended various emails and no one replied.
It made me feel that they were do in me a favor instead of they offering a service for m y hard earn money.
I am very disappointed my wedding was BLAH!
So my advice to people booking anything for a wedding. Take your time and READ any contract very carefully. Be very very specific on what you want, have it on writing and have someone else ensure you get what you are paying for. Because on your wedding day you won't have time to check anything.

Great day-of service!

We had our wedding here in June 2018. We felt that the prices at this venue were very reasonable as compared to a lot of other halls, and we especially liked the extensive open bar, and how much choice there was with the food menu. After booking our wedding here, I was often frustrated at how poor the communication was (it often took weeks and reminders to get a response to my questions or concerns). That being said, I have to say that on the day of our wedding, the service was fantastic. We felt very well taken care of – all the coordinators, service staff, kitchen staff, and bartenders did a wonderful job making sure everything went smoothly and we were very happy with how well everything went.

Renaissance by the Creek was spectacular!

We loved the service provided by Renaissance by the Creek. They were so professional and payed close attention to detail. My guests were ranting and raving about the food. The venue is beautiful and newly renovated too. I would definitely recommend it.

This was the first hall we went to look at, we have both been there for various other functions, so we knew that the food or the service would not be a disappointment.
After visiting another 6 banquet halls we found that Renaissance was by far the most professional, and we felt that they were very well priced. We were happy with our decision just based on those two facts, however, we were completely blown away by the level of service by all the staff. Emilio and Miguel went above and beyond our expectations to ensure that the event went on flawlessly. All of our guest could not stop telling us how much of a good time they had, even the ones that have been there in the past. We will be life long customers.

Absolutely loved the venue and food. We had our wedding reception at this venue. They're reasonably priced and the staff was amazing to work with . All of our guests still talk about how much they loved our food. Highly recommend this venue.

Terrible place to host your wedding

Had our wedding April 9, 2022 at Renaissance. Would highly advise anyone to go somewhere else instead and here are the top 3 reasons why:

1) Stolen and broken wedding items: at the end of the night, we had two large flowers with stands worth $1,250 (flowers $700 and two stands $550). We were told they were safe at Renaissance, and we and our vendors could pick them up the next day. Next day we arrive at noon, the flowers are gone. There was a huge party in another hall that next day, with no Renaissance staff present with people and kids playing and eating outside of their own assigned hall, in the lobby. Not very organized. When our florist went to pick up her flower stands, one of them was broken. When she spoke with Renaissance, they took zero accountability or responsibility. So us and the florist are at a financial loss.

2) Terrible communication by Renaissance staff within their company and externally to us (the customer): Emails we sent took days to get responses or would not get a response at all. At times I would have two people contact me asking the same question. I had to literally give Renaissance every detail (order of the day, guests dietary needs, floor plans) and just hoped things worked out. When we had our food tasting, half the food that was on our wedding menu was not available to taste: the horsdeuvres, salad and crepe dessert were not available to taste. Upon signing our contract, we were told we would have a Coordinator and an Operations Manager. We had a man named Daniel help us, but it was us reaching out and asking questions so we could plan things out. In fairness Daniel tried his best with the resources given to him by the Renaissance team.

3) Lukewarm food, inconsistent room temperature, distracted staff day- of: guests food was lukewarm, the room temperature went from being too warm for guests to too cold where they needed to grab their coats. Our bartender was on her phone half the night and our servers were at times nowhere to be seen.

The price was decent, but it’s not worth the poor service you get and a complete lack of attention to detail. Or the cruel attitude they give you after your event is over and you’ve paid them in full.

Did not get what was paid for

The only way I would recommend this venue is if 100% of the payment is NOT paid up front and this is the reason why: In September my son’s wedding reception was there. Since it first opened, me and my friends and family have had our celebrations there and were very happy with everything. However, after the pandemic and when they opened again the quality of service has declined considerably. They (new owners) now demand that you pay 100% up front and you do not know what you are going to get on your wedding day even though youhave a contract and you have had a food tasting prior to the day. With my son’s wedding he was told the payment requirement had changed even though he was informed ,when he made the contract, that payment was to be made the day after the celebration, now he had to pay 100% up front. He did. On the day of the celebration they served different styled food. For example, the soup was what he had ordered but could not be eaten by many as it was loaded with pepper (not from the sausage either). The fish dish was to be sautéed cod loin , he got heavely batted and fried cod pieces . The dessert was to be rice pudding served in Portuguese clay dishes. NO dessert nor coffee was served at all. He was told that they had dropped the container of the rice pudding in the kitchen. The buffet, the rice pudding that was not served for dessert (apparently they made another batch at the last minute) was served at the buffet but in a foil roasting pan. Where were the Portuguese clay individual dishes? He paid to have a “malassada” station. What he got was, again, a foil roasting pan piled with malassadas that had been made sometime in the morning. Now the seafood, we had never been to one of their functions were they served snow crab. Historically it’s always been Dungeness crab. We got snow crab. There were no ressois at all either. Again for historically there are always ressois. There were individual sweets but no cakes at all other then the wedding cake.
So what I’m trying to say is that there needs to be leverage on the what is going to be served and has been paid for. If you pay 100% up front you will not get what you contracted. You are basically at their mercy and they know it.
