When my fiance and I first started wedding planning for our April 2024 wedding, I had initially written Newlands off, as I falsely thought it was out of our budget (just based on having talked to others that have gotten married here and hearing about how beautiful and "fancy" these other weddings were). But after researching and learning more about what Newlands offers and what their Club Wed packages include, I was shocked by a) how all inclusive the venue is, and b) how reasonable their prices are! Outside of the affordability and all-inclusiveness, we were also so impressed with the staff friendliness and professionalism; each one is so gifted at their particular role. Our wedding coordinator, Jessalyn, was beyond amazing as well. She helped to make the wedding planning process so easy and keep stress levels very low; she was thorough and punctual with all communication and answered absolutely every question that popped up; she was friendly, helpful, flexible, informative, and just overall so great to work with!

Our ceremony and reception space were decorated so beautifully, and the food was over-the-top amazing (so many of our guests commented on how they'd been to many weddings in the past and never had had wedding food as delicious as Newlands). It felt like a fairy tale to get married here! We have zero regrets with having booked our wedding at Newlands and would choose them all over again if we had to. 100% we'd recommend this venue to other couples considering it!

The Newlands team seriously could not have done more for us and our wedding. It was the most magical and perfect day of our lives. Our coordinator, Charlene, was truly a joy to work with and was with us every step of the way, providing such amazing support and guidance. She truly made our wedding way less stressful because of how great she was.

Lisa and the design team executed our wedding vision more than perfectly - they truly went ABOVE AND BEYOND with every single detail. They gave us our dream wedding AND MORE. Every single detail was flawless, and they even went a step further and added extra details that we didn't even know about!!! The flowers and decorations were curated with such care, and it was truly the most beautifully decorated wedding I have ever seen - and I'm not just saying that because it was mine!! I was so emotional when I saw our ballroom and how magical it looked that it brought me to tears. Lisa and the entire Newlands design team listened to our vision and delivered it even better than we ever could have dreamed.

In addition to this, the entire Newlands staff was amazing! The pastry team delivered us the most beautiful, and most delicious wedding cake, and the kitchen gave us the yummiest food ever - our guests could not stop raving about how good the food was!

I seriously could not recommend Newlands more. By choosing to have your wedding at Newlands, you are choosing a team of wonderful people, you are choosing less stress (and let me tell you, wedding planning is the most stressed I have ever been in my life, and Newlands seriously reduced it tenfold), and you are choosing your dream. Newlands will go above and beyond for you and will ensure your wedding is the best day of your life.

My husband and I got married at Newlands on June 13th, 2024 in their beautiful conservatory Ballroom. I will be honest, when we first went we were shown all the other ballrooms they have to offer and were quite underwhelmed, but when they say saving the best for last - it’s really worth it! The conservatory ball room was MAGICAL. It was a fairy tail dream with the twinkle lights, and floor to ceiling windows all around the room. Stunning! Our wedding coordinator was Charlene, and we’re beyond happy with her and her patience with us leading up to the wedding, many questions and concerns came up as the day came closer - but she did an amazing job reassuring us. She truly helped the wedding go great! Sherri was our photographer, and she was SO easy and professional to work with. I get easily overwhelmed and she made sure I never got to that point during photos on our big day. Our whole wedding party loved her too! 11/10. We also fully recommend the magnolia suite to any brides thinking about getting it. It was absolutely stunning, and all of my bridesmaids and vendors loved it too! We would totally recommend Newlands to anyone who is getting married! thank you everyone for making our day so perfect.

We chose Newlands due to the all inclusive approach and loved how simple and low stress this made wedding planning. If you want to hand pick every detail, this option might not be for you, but I loved not having to research, choose, and contract individual vendors. I found the staff at Newlands never pressured us to upsell anything, any add ons were simply mentioned as being available and they moved on if we didn't express interest.
Our coordinator, Charlene, was very helpful and great to work with throughout the planning process and on our wedding day. Our room captain, Gus, was also wonderful.
Overall, we had a great experience at Newlands in the Copper Ballroom and would recommend it.

I genuinely couldn’t recommend Newlands enough! I’ve had many people ask me where my venue was, and ask about all my vendors. It was so easy to just say… “Newlands handled it all for me!” The team was absolutely amazing, Charlene, Lisa, Linda, Sherry, everyone! I was incredibly blessed to have my day on the hottest and sunniest day in February as well. The food was fantastic (everyone kept going back for the tofu!). The cake was very moist! The DJ did an amazing job as well. Everyone was very professional. Thank you so much!

Everyone we met and dealt with from Newland are very professional and responsive.
Lisa took us on an adventures: choosing decorations and florals that fit together, while reminding us of our budget!
Charlene as our coordinator was quick, especially since we had to transition inside due to weather.
Sherri for suggestions of activities to include for our banquet. Ian and Ashley as photographers/videographers had to deal with our changing schedule, and hectic photos with guests. They had to work with space constraints, time constraints in getting all the photos with our guests; they ran around all night with us.
The food was amazing. The wedding cake was absolutely delicious and beautiful. Not what we thought with fondants but creamy and yummy.

We decided on booking Newlands for a few reasons. One being that it has been a family brunch spot on important occasions since I was a little girl and I've always loved the venue. Secondly, the value is absolute unmatched and third, the Cypress room is stunning along with the magnolia room to get ready in.

Our day was the most incredible and Newlands staff, Jessalyn, Charlene and Lisa/the design team went above and beyond for us. It was just how I imagined and after many many email requests, back and forth it worked out perfect. Newlands truly is accommodating to your wants - they changed the pasta to Alfredo for us, took the shells off the prawns, our room captain made sure we had drinks refilled all night, the attentiveness was amazing.

Our family and friends had a blast as well as we sure did. The cake, food, music and everything in between was perfect.

All in all, if you're thinking of booking Newlands, don't sleep on it! It's the best value/bang for your buck in the Fraser Valley/locally, the staff are so friendly and they truly know their stuff without over charging etc. the photos reflect just how gorgeous our day truly was and I couldn't be happier that we went with a venue that means so much to me.

Newlands was a convenient venue as it provided many wedding features that we would otherwise have to source and bring together ourselves. That was the main draw-in for us at the beginning of our wedding-planning venue search. If you're unsure about how the venue will look photographed, ours photographed really well and all the guests commented on how beautiful it was. The complete experience was quite average, but a few superstars from the Newlands team really made our wedding great.

Pros:
1) By far the best thing from Newlands and what made our experience with this venue worth it- their top photographer, Sherri. Sherri has wedding photography down to an absolute art. Make sure you book her, and all your worries about this part of your wedding will melt away. She is extremely experienced and will get the best out of you and your SO. She is a cut above all the other wedding photographers. She can even predict the weather (twice, for us). She is also super knowledgeable about the wedding day processes, including cultural events like tea ceremonies.

2) Lisa, Newland's decor lead, is phenomenal. She is efficient and understanding. Instead of feeling like we were upsold or forced to spend more money getting extras, we actually felt like she DOWNsold us. She knew our budget and worked perfectly within it, wasting no time on things out of the realm of our limits. Yet, at the night of our wedding, the room looked so good.

3) Heera. The room captain for our special night. Make sure you request that Heera be your room captain. He was absolutely incredible as a room captain, I have never felt so important at any restaurant or venue or anything. He truly made us feel like we were the most important couple on earth that day. We never worked with him/knew him before the day of our wedding, but he was the most lovely surprise. He got us all our food and beverages and checked in multiple times throughout the night to ensure we didn't need anything. We did not have to get up from the head table at any point for food or drinks!

Cons:
1) All the other reviews about price increases once you lock Newlands in as your venue is correct. Be prepared for that. Sherri, as our photographer, was really good, but the prices increased and we could not do anything about that. The initial price of the photography package we agreed on was a big reason why we decided to go with Newland's in-house photographer, and by the time they told us about the price increase, it was already too late to find other alternatives. That left a sour taste in our mouth.
There were also some hidden/ less obvious costs like if you want the digital pictures that the photographer took for you, you need to pay another hefty amount of money to get it. They also originally raised the cost of drink tickets, but after we raised our concerns, this was lowered to the original price which we appreciated.

2) Newlands changed our main wedding co-ordinator on us without giving us any warning or reason. This disrupted our wedding planning flow and we did have to catch up the new co-ordinator, as the first co-ordinator was planning most of our wedding and changed just a few months before the wedding. Communication was very good at times, and other times emails were a bit slow. Some things needed to be repeated. The second co-ordinator was much better, but again, the wedding was soon and she was newly assigned to us.

3) When we went to the food tasting, my last name was spelled incorrectly. This was stressful and concerning to us as we do not want our names spelled wrong on the wedding day as well. We brought this up with Newlands but felt like it was brushed off quickly and it was not very reassuring.

4) Newlands provides the wedding cake, which is good, but the wedding cake we got was not what we ordered with Newlands. We designed the cake with Newlands but on the day of, the color is completely off. We had ordered dusty blue and what we got was an electric blue. They gave us the wrong cake. If the wedding cake and cake cutting is a big deal for you, make sure to ask Newlands if you can bring your own.

5) The buffet food was average to us. Their best dish is by far the fish. Any fish item, Newlands has it down in strides. I won't be able to enjoy fish anywhere else now. But every other protein option is weirdly not great. We are glad we went to the Food Tasting before our wedding, as the Beef Bourgignon was as hard as rocks. I'm not a picky eater, I love instant noodles and Churches Chicken, so that's something coming from me. So we changed the Beef Bourgignon to baby back ribs, which was average but not talk-of-the-town bad. Make sure to upgrade from Baron of Beef to Prime Rib at least, because the Baron of Beef was cardboard. I find it hard to say no to beef carvings, but to the Baron of Beef, I say no thank you.

Everything from the start up until the big day went super smoothly!! The whole process was stress free and very organized. Everyone who attended commented on how great everything was, from the food to the décor!

We recently got married at Newlands Golf & Country club- May 11,2024 and we had such an amazing experience. We got the least expensive package but it still came with a lot of things such as food, cake, DJ, decors, flowers. Newlands took a load off our plate specially since my husband and I both work long hours and barely had time to plan the wedding. Newlands was always on top of reaching out to us regarding wedding details and info and they are always available to answer any of our questions or concerns. Thank you Newlands for giving us the wedding of our dreams!
