Say "I do" in the distinctive setting of The Lake House, resting directly above Lake Bonavista in Calgary, Alberta. You and your guests will be awestruck by the fascinating interior illuminated with ornate elk antler chandeliers and accessorized with a grand fireplace. This delicate and creative restaurant offers the ideal setting for couples seeking the ultimate waterfront locale for their wedding.
Facilities and Capacity
The Lake House reflects rustic elegance and features large windows overlooking the beautiful lake. Ceremonies and receptions can be hosted inside the recently renovated restaurant with its 130-square-foot, glass-encased wine cellar and refurbished 21-foot bar from the 1800s. It has the capacity for 250 guests. Guests can also enjoy the breathtaking views from the lovely outdoor patio.

Canadian Rocky Mountain Resorts manages the Lake House. The caring and dedicated team will help couples throughout the event planning process, from initial planning to the final toast. The team is also happy to work with outside vendors for necessary services. Wedding services include the following:

Perfect Wedding Venue
We had our wedding at the Lake house recently, and it was perfect. The staff were very friendly and the service was exceptional. Consistent comments from our guests about how great the food was and how on point everything was. The event coordinator, Kirsten, was great to work with and made the whole process so easy.

Beautiful wedding dinner
I booked the private room at the lake house for my wedding dinner. The service and food were great!! They also let my friends come in an hour earlier to decorate my tables. Even though the private room has limited capacity, it was very spacious for my group… we were 34 people in total and we even had plenty of space left for our first dance ♥ the food was delicious and all of our guest enjoyed it very much.
My only feedback would be to the events manager. During the planning process, from all my vendors she was the only one that seemed a bit cold and sort of rigid, mostly on us following the schedule. I understand there may be difficult customers but not everyone is like that, and I did feel a little judged during our calls as she would repeatedly make comments about last call time, end times, courses times, or to not take too long during speeches, etc.
During the wedding day everything went well, and since it was only dinner (not a full reception) we even left before the last call hehe. Just some feedback, overall, we had a great time. Thank you everyone!!!

Summer 2021 Wedding
We can't say enough amazing things about this venue, from the management, food, service, location, etc. Everyone at this location, especially Kirsten, is phenomenal. We are so thankful that our special day was spent here!

The Perfect Wedding Venue!
The Lake House was the perfect venue for our wedding. We originally had planned to have the entire venue for our reception, but unfortunately, due to COVID we were forced to change our date multiple times and were sadly not able to have our desired guest list. Kirsten was SO accommodating and patient with us while we navigated through so many changes. We booked the private dining room for a small intimate family dinner after our ceremony and it was absolutely perfect!
The food and service was amazing! We hope we are able to have a proper reception when COVID restrictions have been lifted and we cannot wait to work with Kirsten and the team at the Lake House in the future!

Absolutely Stunning!
I knew when we were getting married, I wanted to have good food, good drinks and good company. I had been to the lake house for dinner before and I knew it would be perfect to get married on the water. Kristen is their coordinator and she made it a breeze to decide everything- I only had a family friend that helped with the décor and Kristen allowed us to come in during after hours and let us organize the place for the proper décor. The fire place is the focal point of the venue which our florist and decorator didn’t disappoint.
We were able to do a full tasting menu and wine tasting in order to decide for our big day. We chose quite easily on the food options; the food was heavenly. We weren’t disappointed and we even got complements on how delicious it was from ALL our guests. The drinks, well you can’t complain about those!
The Lake house is just an all-around stunning place, you do need to know someone in order to have access to the actual lake but there are beautiful places around to still take photos.
I highly recommend this venue!

Went above and beyond
We booked their private dining room for our wedding. Due to the pandemic we had to reschedule. They were extremely accommodating to all of the changes and we were still able to have exactly the wedding we wanted with some slight adjustments. The staff on site were amazing and we were pampered and well taken care of all evening. The venue is spectacular with the most amazing views for photos.
