Kortright Event Space is a charming park wedding venue located in Vaughan, Ontario. Originally founded in 1979, this multifaceted event area boasts several spaces to host your celebration of romance and commitment. With indoor and outdoor options available, this property can do justice to a whole host of themes and concepts. Featuring woodlands all around, it has multiple places where couples and wedding guests can come together for a remarkable celebration.
Facilities and Capacity
Owing to the several hundred acres of woodlands that envelope the Kortright Event Space, this property is a secluded retreat. It is ideal for those who would like a private gathering of between 80 and 200 people. For the milestone ceremony, couples can join together with their invitees at Forest Path or the Cathedral of Trees. In front of a makeshift gazebo, the to-be-weds can make their union official as seated guests watch on either side of the natural aisle. Surrounded by nature, these eye-catching settings create peaceful and easy-going ambiences for the elevated occasion. Alternatively, if the weather is not on the party’s side, everyone can make use of the indoor Forest Gallery. Once the officiant has declared the happy couple as newlyweds, they can exit to enjoy some photo opportunities around the grounds.
The Main Hall boasts the largest capacity of all for the partying and festivities, so it can accommodate approximately 150 guests. The Forest Gallery allows up to 135 people to mix and mingle, and this event space is illuminated by natural and artificial light thanks to both large windows and skylights. The Glass House is perhaps the most striking of all, and it can host 120 people. It lets the outside in while retaining a rustic warmth throughout. A get-ready suite is also available on site.

The staff are delighted to work alongside clients to meticulously organize each detail, and they enjoy ensuring that each celebration lives up to expectations. On October 21/22 we had our dream wedding at the Kortright Centre and wouldn’t have changed a thing.
However, 2 reasons our day went as perfectly as it did, was because I’m a type A person and we hired a wedding planner.
I can be certain that if I wasn’t on top of absolutely everything, and if I didn’t hire a planner our day wouldn’t have been as amazing as it was.
Pros:
Stunning location - the forest setting is unbelievable beautiful, and we paid minimal for decor/flowers (we felt the space was beautiful on its own)
Food - Peters and Pauls knows food! Our guests are still raving about each dish being better than the last
Cons:
Cost - Thankfully we were locked in prices pre pandemic when we signed our contract in 2019, looking at their wedding packages now - I can’t believe the cost increase for what you’re getting! There is an added charge for everything. For 100 guests budget at least 25k for the venue alone.
Communication - I’m neurotic and was on top of everything, but having our venue coordinator change so many times was frustrating and communication in general was definitely left up to us to take control of. Day of, the venue coordinator was responsive and professional.
Overall we wouldn’t have changed a thing, we had the greatest wedding exactly as we envisioned, but it wasn’t thanks to the Kortright - we made it happen.
If you're willing to put up with the inflated price, and are willing to do the leg work - you can have an absolutely perfect wedding at the Kortright Centre. Just be prepared for some dedication/stress on your part.

Location was absolutely beautiful! We had the unfortunate situation where the event manager switched last minute to a new hire, who seemed a bit inexperienced.
Pros:
- they were very flexible with our agenda, which allowed us to operate less on a crunch time
- quite responsive
Cons:
- unprofessional in communication and forgetting details, which made us feel a bit anxious about how the day of the event would go
- unreliable: the day-of the event, the event manager and back-up colleague did not arrive, and our ceremony coordinator had to reach out and trouble-shoot why the chairs were not set up in time.
Without the event manager on site, the possibility of unforeseen circumstances (i.e. weather) could have dramatically impacted our ability to carry out the wedding ceremony as planned. All to say, it did go smoothly, but it felt like we were operating without any assurance.

So glad we went with Kortright!
We had the best experience with Kortright and it's staff! After a hectic year because of the 'C' word, Kortright was amazing to work with, responsive, and overall supportive throughout everything. We rented a clear top tent to accommodate all our guests (which doubled as a dance floor!) in order to have our reception in the Glass House, and it was just perfect!
The staff were wonderful, the food was amazing, and of course the venue was beautiful. We couldn't have asked for a better venue to host our long awaited wedding. It really was the perfect day I'd always dreamed of!

Beautiful Location... service during planning was terrible
The wedding day was great. Everything was wonderful, the setting was gorgeous, the serving staff (extra huge thank you to Janet and her team) did an excellent job. We had so many compliments on the food, and portion sizes were huge. My husband and I are very happy with how the day turned out, and we wouldn't change a thing.
However, dealing with Kortright leading up to the wedding... was awful. I understand that it was during covid, but it would usually take weeks to get a email back from anyone, and they rarely picked up their phones. We had been planning this wedding since 2019 due to covid postponing our original date, and yet important information still managed to slip through the cracks and we only found out in the weeks leading up to the wedding. This was likely because we were passed along to about 5 or 6 different people, and it felt like starting from scratch with each one. About two weeks before the wedding, we were informed we would need a tent next to the glass house due to covid restrictions requiring extra spacing between tables. "All our glass house receptions need tents now," they told us as though we were already supposed to know this. "But they book up fast so you should hurry to rent one." This is just one example of how poor communication was. There are several others but it would take too long to type them all up. Overall, we were extremely disappointed with the planning processed with Kortright, and it led to extra stress with wedding planning, so we cannot recommend this venue.
A week before the wedding, we were passed along to someone new who would end up being our day of coordinator. We would like to specially thank Meaghan, who did an awesome job. If we had been dealing with Meaghan from day one, I'm sure we would have had a better experience.

Beautiful Venue
We fell in love with the Kortright Centre for Conservation on our first visit and could picture what our wedding would look like surrounded by nature. We were excited to have our ceremony in the forest in August 2020, but unfortunately, we had to reschedule our reception to September 2021 due to the pandemic. We mainly corresponded with Stephanie who answered all of our questions throughout the 2 years of wedding planning via email and phone. She was clear, accommodating, and professional, but we found that it took longer than expected for her to respond to our email inquiries 2 months leading up to our wedding reception date (amidst the changing pandemic situation). We were pleased that our feedback for adjusting the menu from our tasting was fully taken into account and the food was delicious. However, our main course was served approximately 1 hour behind schedule, which pushed everything else back. That meant that there was no time for cake cutting at the end, which guests were looking forward to witnessing. Overall, we had a good experience and would recommend the venue.

Wedding at Kortright
Thankfully I had a wedding coordinator who managed to work through very last minute and changing financial elements Kortright threw at us 5 days before my wedding. The overall responsiveness from staff was often late or emails were not replied to - my wedding coordinator had to speak to the owner to sort out unexpected details at the very last minute. Happily, everything worked out, but had it not been for my coordinator, things on that day would have been much different.

Unforgettable Evening
I wanted to get married at Kortright for years. The outdoor space is just amazing. Stephanie did a very good job staying in contact with us despite the raging pandemic. She was always very reassuring and answered questions very quickly.
We got married in the forest and had dinner in the glasshouse. Even with the extra spaced-out tables for COVID, everything felt great. People loved the firepit and popcorn station and the food was SO good.
Some things I would note:
1. Working with Stephanie was great but near the actual wedding day 2 other people take over and they weren't as responsive and it was hard to get certain information (like confirming our rehearsal time)
2. The kitchen was a little slow on the food so we had to change up our reception schedule a bit
3. For COVID restrictions, the tables had to be distanced and we could only fit about 70 people in the glasshouse. We still had to pay for 100 people so invited 100 and had to rent a tent with a different company. It was a bit last minute to find a tent company, this part was quite stressful.
Overall we had an amazing day. The staff at Kortright really do care about you and your wedding. I didn't feel like I was just "another bride" - they really did take the time to make sure everything was running as it should.

One-of-a-kind outdoor venue
One-of-a-kind venue. Beautiful backdrop during the summer. Blank canvas to add your personal style and decor. The space needs some upkeep (e.g. interlock floor used as dance space is uneven), but otherwise is a great choice for an outdoor event.
Although at times difficult to coordinate during the pandemic, the vendor team was well intentioned and receptive. On the wedding day, everything was clean, and the service was very good. The food isn't the best, but the setting makes up for that. The vendor allows outside food for late night snacks, and they also offer a campfire and s'mores as an option.

Saved our Wedding
After having to push our wedding twice due to Covid restrictions, our original venue was still unable to open. We reached out to Kortright a mere three weeks prior to our wedding date as part of our search for an alternate venue. Kortright was very accommodating and gave us the flexibility we needed to successfully pull off the wedding. Under the tight timeline, Kortright was still able to provide food in take-out boxes, and arrange logistics and timeline for our vendors. Kortright ensured our event ran smoothly and we'd highly recommend!

Stunning Venue, Amazing Team, Great Food
Our experience with the Kortright Centre and byPeterandPauls.com was amazing on our wedding day. They were so attentive, such great hosts and very professional. The entire evening ran so smoothly and was beautiful. The Glass House is the perfect venue for a romantic and intamite event. The food was incredible and we had so many compliments from the guests on it. They said it was the best wedding food they've ever had. They also took all the precautions required right now to make everything safe during the pandemic. Tables were very spread out, appetizers were served with all the different options on one plate, the ceremony seating was spread out to keep everyone safe. The servers and bartenders were so attentive and fun. So many guests were blown away by the beauty of the venue and the forest. If you are looking for a beautiful venue with a romantic woodsy atmosphere, wonderful staff & great food and drinks you should check out the Kortright Centre.
