Yorath House is an event venue located in Edmonton, Alberta, situated close to Edmonton Valley Zoo and Sir Wilfrid Laurier Park. Initially constructed in 1949, the house is a cabin-style two-storey structure ideal for intimate gatherings and special occasions.
Originally used as a family home, the venue now welcomes prospective newlyweds to host their wedding day here. Surrounded by scenic views of the river and mature trees, the space exudes a feeling of peacefulness and relaxation akin to spa retreats. Couples are sure to delight in the simple elegance of the house's charm and decor.

Facilities and Capacity
Yorath House can accommodate a maximum of 60 people. Events will have access to the full venue. The main floor features a gas fireplace with an adjacent outdoor patio. This floor can accommodate 56 people seated at round tables, with a break-out space that has 4 high-top tables and stools—this is the standard venue floor plan.
Upstairs, you will find an equally magnificent space offering great views and amenities, with an adjacent second-floor terrace. The second floor can comfortably hold up to 48 people seated at banquet tables—this is the standard venue floor plan.
Decorative wooden cladding and stylish brickwork accents flow throughout the house, creating a beautiful and customizable backdrop.
Note: The main-floor and second-floor numbers of 56 people and 48 people cannot be combined. The maximum capacity for events is 60 people.
Services Offered
Yorath House is available for full-venue bookings for a minimum of three hours per event. Couples can opt for a single-day rental or an exclusive weekend rate. The house is a blank space, ideal for you to design and decorate to your preferred tastes. It is open to vendors and suppliers of your choosing, giving you complete flexibility. Additional facilities include on-site parking.
Catering
Catering must be from a licensed establishment. Cooking or preparing food on site is not permitted, and neither are home-cooked or home-prepared items.
Alcohol
Alcohol must be managed and served by a bartender via the caterer or managed and served by a bartender with Pro-Serve Certification. A valid liquor license will be required.
Setup and Takedown
The venue is provided with a standard event floor plan. Groups may rearrange the equipment on their own within the spaces at no cost, provided it is returned to the standard layout before the end of the rental period.
Note: A setup/takedown fee will apply if you require any of our equipment to be removed or rearranged for you.
Facility Host
Rentals include one on-site facility host for the duration of the event. Additional facility hosts may be required pending event details. This will be at the discretion of the venue. Charges will apply.
Venue Notes
Other than tables and chairs, the venue does not provide any additional event equipment or services. Linens, dishes, sound equipment etc. must be brought in by the user. All items that are brought into the venue must leave by the end of the scheduled rental time. The main-floor patio area and the second-floor terrace are seasonal spaces. These areas are only accessible in the spring, summer and fall, weather permitting.
