Lighthearted and meaningful ceremonies done really well, in the heart of downtown Kitchener, Ontario. You never could have imagined a City Hall wedding this fun (or this beautiful!)

Welcome to the DTK Chapel, a 100% fully renovated ceremony-only venue that has been helping couples marry their best friends in the Waterloo Region since 1997. We are located inside Kitchener City Hall, steps away from Victoria Park, Goudie's Lane, and a number of great restaurants and hotels! Since we do not host receptions, we are able to host a number of celebrations any day of the week!

When Jeff of maeckweddings.com took over the space in 2021, he knew he wanted to revitalize the chapel and give it some new life by giving it a modern feel and by taking full advantage of the natural light (it's a photographer's dream now), and make it as easy as possible for couples to marry their favourite human.

So he started from scratch - took everything out, and built a really beautiful place for couples to say I do.

The DTK Chapel is two rooms, separated by custom black herringbone barn doors.

The Lounge
The lounge is the perfect place for guests to relax and chat with family and friends. We wanted it to feel a bit like home, so we added brown leather chairs, modern couches, and oak tables. We also wanted it to be a really pretty photo spot, so we installed a beautiful gold sputnik light fixture and a black garage door, enclosed by stained oak beams, and it. looks. awesome!

The Chapel
When it's time for the ceremony to start, guests will walk through the black herringbone barn doors into the chapel - a clean and modern place for you to say I do. Guests are greeted with white Eames chairs, soft gold lights, a sound system, and beautiful custom molding on the front wall, the perfect backdrop.

What's Included
With our signature Short and Sweet ceremonies, you get access to the room for 1 hour, enough time for you to spend some time with your guests, enjoy your ceremony, and take some photos. Your officiant and room rental are included in the price. All you need is a marriage licence and a few witnesses and we've got the rest covered for you!

Capacity
Our full capacity is 40 guests, however, right now we are able to accommodate 25 total guests in the space, including your photographer (if you have one), and your officiant (provided by us!).
