Facilities and Capacity

The venue features various flexible event spaces that are ideal for hosting both intimate and large gatherings. The majestic City View Ballroom can comfortably accommodate up to 200 guests. It features a dance space, raised head table, floor-to-ceiling windows, and gorgeous crystal chandeliers. Located on the ninth floor, the ballroom provides stunning views of the River Valley and Downtown Core. Couples can also use the Meredith room, which accommodates 100 guests banquet style. There are also two salons that can hold 50 guests for a smaller affair.

The professional and hardworking staff will ensure that every detail of your special day goes exactly to plan. The hotel provides excellent catering and bar services. You can work with the culinary team to design a menu that features dishes to suit your unique taste. Couples are welcome to bring outside vendors for additional services. An amazing value with a beautiful room

We had a great wedding at the Holiday Inn, we did both the ceremony and reception in the penthouse ballroom, it was a wonderful experience. What was great was they included everything in the price, the food, set up, take down, tables, chairs, linens, napkins, chair covers, and the staff was so kind and committed. We were a little taken aback when the wedding coordinator that had been with us for the last year was let go a week before our wedding. It was a bit of a scramble, but you cannot beat the value of this location, go for a tour and check it out.

The food was great and nobody went away hungry. The penthouse was a great room with lots of natural light. We had about 95 people come to the reception and found that 95-100 was the perfect number for this venue. We had three entree choices, roast beef, chicken and salmon with lots of salads etc. Not one complaint about the food.

With all the last minute change of plans, HI ex downtown staff was very accommodating and helpful and helped the wedding run as smoothly as possible. The only minor complaint was the value for the food. The food was decent but a little overpriced for some of the items. I would suggest to the catering to have pictures of the food items so the client can see the size/portions.

Jason and his team were awesome, He put up with us stressing and remained calm the entire time, made special arrangements to get us exactly what we wanted,(we were very picky about our brand of champagne) dealt with our over demanding wedding planner and her demands and overall was a delight to deal with the whole way through. The cost of the event including the extra's that we wanted where very resonable for the scale of our event. The day of there was not a single worry that either of us had as everything was almost flawless, the champagne was a little late coming up for guest but honestly that was it.

Only words of caution would be that if you are planning on having a DJ on site and rocking the house the Hotel requires a sound level sign off stating that the DB's will not go over a certain level and personally thought that was kinda of a drag as the DJ was not overly excited to sign it and we were there to celebrate.

We had our reception here May 23, 2010 and we coudn't have asked for a better event! The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly, the food was outstanding even with some extremely picky eaters, and the atmosphere was spot on for the feel I'd hoped for.
Any time we had questions, the staff were always very prompt in responding. Even with two issues that came up that evening the staff were amazing! We had brought our own wine for dinner and apparently ran out of red wine just after dinner was served, yet the staff were prepared with house wine pending our approval and our guests were none the wiser. The other issue was the heat in the room towards the end of the night as the dance floor was packed until the wee hours and the room was quite warm. This is more of a structural issue and was not a damper on our evening. A great time was had by all and I'd do it all again next week if possible!
