A Magical Space

Janet is probably the nicest human in the world! She was incredibly flexible, relaxed, and lovely. She truly loves the farm and you can see the meticulous care involved in it's maintenance. It was a truly magical day and I would recommend her space to anyone planning an intimate wedding or for someone looking to participate in anyone of the workshops she hosts on site. An absolutely wonderful experience!

Such a beautiful experience

I sought out a small venue to have an intimate wedding with my immediate family and found this beautiful little place . After being let down by my original venue and the disaster that covid caused, we just wanted to get married but still make it as special as possible. Janet was super kind and very responsive to any questions we had. She was also attentive to making sure we had everything we needed before the big day and confirmed the setup and other items we needed were in their proper place. The property is spectacular and you can really tell she takes pride in maintaining the flower patches and barn. Our guests loved the venue and could not get over how beautiful it was. For anyone looking for a small, intimate venue to host a wedding or any other event, I would highly recommend Country Cut Flowers - such a beautiful experience!

Lovely scenery and a kind owner

The flowers and scenery overall looks amazing when we had our wedding in mid-September. We have visited multiple places but this venue is perfect for the outside micro-wedding we were planning for.
The farm owner was also very kind to provide us with some buckets of flowers for the occasion, which made the place looked even prettier than usual.
The flowers planted at farm change from time to time, and there are some rules regarding smoking, non-alcohol, etc. Still, it is nothing unreasonable, and we found the farm owner to be pleasant to work with.
The venue also has a barn that could be used for inside wedding in case of bad weather, we were lucky though that weather were good on the date of the wedding. Also, make sure to hire a photographer! There are a lot of photos to take.

There is Magic at Country Cut Flowers

We visited Country Cut Flowers in September and we immediately fell in love. Janet was so great and very quick in her responses. We were able to do everything online, including signing the contracts, which made the process super easy. We planned our wedding in a month, and Janet was super gracious along the way. We visited the venue multiple times, and got to walk the hills and trails - which was very special to us. Janet even was agreeable to allow our dog to be on property to be our Flower Dog, and honestly - I think he had probably had the best time at our wedding! I really appreciate Janet being that flexible with us.

The week of our wedding it rained a lot. Janet had reached out to us in advance and kept us updated on what she is doing to make the venue be safe, and her proactiveness was very much appreciated. We really wanted an outdoor wedding and her team had set it all up for us. On the day of the wedding it also rained, so we had to move the wedding inside, then outside, then inside again (LOL!). We ended up with a partial outdoor and indoor wedding, where the actual ceremony happened outside with guests standing up, and the older guests sat inside the barn and was able to watch us getting married. It actually worked out really well for us, and we were so grateful that our grandparents could be warm and cozy and still watch us get married.

The barn was stunning. Janet left bundles of extra flowers for us, and the dried flowers were such a hit. We got so many compliments about our wedding. We had to go a little late than we had intended and our contract said, but Janet was so gracious and easy going about it.

The province had just released the Vaccine Passport program about two weeks before our wedding. Janet kept us upto date with the expectations before so we could prep our guests and get everything organized.

Janet suggested catering via food truck, and was super helpful in responding to ours and the trucks questions so everything could go without a hitch. I really appreciated her and her teams work. We had individual charcuterie boxes and wrapped desserts so the wedding was super COVID friendly. We did not have alcohol at the wedding - which was fine because we are not big drinkers. We send everyone home with bottle of bubblies instead to toast to us in the safety of their homes. It was actually really nice to not to have to worry about anyone's safety on our big day.
The venue was so romantic and lovely, that everyone naturally mingled and had a great time. Everyone was so emotional by the end of the wedding - I swear there was magic in the air that night.

The venue is stunning, and even in the (maybe I should say, especially in the) rain it was so beautiful. We ended up getting married under the arch outside and ended up with no decor- but the flowered arch and the flowers, and the fall colours - it was a dream come true!

We just got our wedding photos back, and everyone is going bananas over our venue and the photos. The venue was absolutely the highlight of our wedding!

Our wedding was beyond anything we could have ever fantasized for ourselves, and to pull it all off within a month - was just - next level! Thank you to Janet and her team for their incredible service.

Gorgeous rustic venue for a lovely wedding

I had such an unforgettable experience getting married at Country Cut Flowers. Janet was so accommodating from the day we met her. She was so sweet and kind to walk us through the gorgeous venue and chat with us along the way, answering all my questions and concerns. She is very passionate about her flower farm and you can see the love and effort she puts into making the place warm and welcoming. Janet went out of her way to explain when certain flowers would bloom at the farm and because our date was early summer, it wouldn’t be as colourful at the farm as usual, which I didn’t mind. The whole process was incredibly smooth for us, I didn’t have anything to worry about at all.

On the day of, Janet had rearranged the chairs to face the rolling hills in the background and cleaned up the farm to make it all nice and tidy for us. We absolutely loved the rustic barn space with giant doors that opened and overlooked the ceremony area, flower farm, and of course the lovely hills and forests faraway. Our family and close friends (as it was an intimate covid wedding after all) had nothing but compliments for the venue and our big day. We wanted something short and sweet, memorable with no hassles, and of course safe during these difficult times. Janet and this venue offered exactly what we had envisioned. After cancellations and headaches with other vendors, it was a breath of fresh air to meet Janet and her team :)

I will never book again.

I will NEVER do business with them again.. This review is a long time in the making. I wanted to take my time writing it so here it is. I contacted this venue through Wedding Wire. Same day spoke to them through the website, then on a phone call. I was told there was a last minute cancellation for a wedding June 19 2021. I rushed over there immediately to see the venue in person We met with Janet. We told her we wanted it. She saved the date that day, but took a day or two to send us the contract- giving her time to actually review what she was sending us. In the contract – it says alcohol is allowed provided you have a liquor license. In person- she mentioned the same thing. We both agreed to the terms, signed the contract, and we sent the deposit. Contract was signed March 31 2021. With only 3 months to the wedding, I got to working on securing vendors. Within a weeks time, I have made most of the necessary arrangements for that specific date. April 3 (3 days after signing the contract) – we went to see the venue again to calculate our seating space. Janet was there the whole time and was part of our discussions re: covid seating, food set up, and confirmed once more alcohol is OK with a license. April 6 (6 days after signing) - Janet decided she didn’t want to have alcohol on her premises anymore. There were no government restrictions on this. This was something Janet decided on her own. Which would have been a huge deciding factor for a wedding (ceremony and reception) provided that this was discussed in advance of signing a contract. However, the contract terms she agreed on (and had us locked in with a deposit) was that alcohol was allowed with a license. Thus, breaching her contract. We told her this was a breach of contract, but she ignored that. Terms are set for a reason. Not to mention – at this point I am tied in with many many other contracts/deposits for June 19 with other vendors. Hence, putting us in a very bad position should they be unable to accommodate another date. She sent us back our deposit and cancelled our booking all together. In conclusion, Janet did not hold up to her end of a contractual obligation. She broke contract with total disregard, and then sent us packing to go clean up her mess. If you are planning a wedding, you can understand how this is already stressful and to have to deal with something like this was a horrible experience. She made me miserable for weeks on end- till I was finally able to make new arrangements. But even then- the stress of my experience followed me. Also- her whole excuse was for covid safety. We were a 20 person wedding, ready to follow all guidelines mandated by the government, and the rules set in our contract. If alcohol (at a wedding!!) was allowed per our contract, and per government covid rules – that’s what we were going to have. If the government did not allow it, we would have followed those rules.

The Perfect Day!

Janet and her team at Country Cut Flowers were so great to work with, from start to finish. Janet is so kind and really worked with us to create our dream day. The venue is absolutely gorgeous. We got married on September 5th, 2021 and the gardens were so full and vibrant. We had Janet decorate the arch that we got married under as well and she did such an amazing job. Fresh flowers galore! All of our guests commented on our beautiful venue. Highly recommended this oasis for any Wedding or event!!!

Blossoming dreams!

My partner and I were hoping to get married in 2021 with the hopes that the pandemic would get better sooner. We started planning and coordinating with Janet (the owner) in 2020. She was very helpful in giving us advice on which flowers blossomed when and also what the scenery was like depending on the season. She was also very professional with us when changes had to take place due to the pandemic. We understood that the business owner had their own right to make limitations on what they feel is safe for their business especially since these limitations were due to pandemic and the recommendations professional bodies as well as government bodies had recommended. Just as we can see how businesses have changed/updated/modified their rules (across all industries) as the pandemic continues (well hopefully for not much longer). My partner and I hope to book in 2023 depending on how the pandemic "wraps up" (not sure when lol). We are happy with how the business owner dealt with our transaction even though we had to cancel (was provided a full refund). She was professional throughout the whole process.

The space, flower farm, is truly a dream. The business owner's love and care for flowers is something we can truly appreciate. You can see how happy the flowers are! We've visited the farm in the spring and summer and it is such a beautiful and humbling space. Hoping for an early fall / late summer ceremony.

Would recommend this venue for smaller wedding ceremonies!

Surprisingly gorgeous and affordable

I could not image a better picture of the wedding without this venue. It’s already hard enough to find a satisfying wedding venue during COVID. Not to mention that our time and budget is very limited.
The moment we see the view at the venue in real life, we decided to have our wedding there. The owner, Janet is very helpful and responsive during the whole process of the preparation. Despite that on contract, balloons were not allowed, after we discussed with Janet, she kindly adjusted contract and allowed the two balloons(which I loved so much).
Every guest is stunned by the venue. I could not find a better place with affordable cost.
