The staff at The Capitol Event Theatre were amazing. Rene, Neli and the entire team were attentive to the needs of me and my husband as well as our guests during the reception. Caterina and the entire Capitol staff were responsive, helpful and flexible when working with our unique requests. The planning was simple, the options almost limitless and the staff on the day of took care of everyone's needs. - One week before our wedding, they decided to add on an extra $300 fee for hiring dishwashers. We argued with them that this was ridiculous and the contract we signed almost a year prior stated that they would provide all service staff for the evening, which (in our opinion) includes dishwashers. They refused to back down and the coordinator, Caterina, had the gall to say that "since it wasn't too much money, we assumed you would be okay with paying it." We were forced to pay the extra fee since we really had no way to change venues within a few days of the event.
- They only had a few chafing dishes and were going to rent extra ones for our event since we had a lot of food. They said it would cost an extra $1000, which was astronomical, so we said no and we would find our own rental company and have them delivered to the venue and we would return them on our own. At the end of the night, Castlefield packed up the chafing dishes, barely washed, and we took them home. When my father went to return them to the rental vendor, it was found that The Castlefield had given us a number of incorrect lids (from their own stock), so my father had to go back to the venue to return them and get the correct ones. Castlefield took their lids back and gave my dad all but one of the correct lids; they said they couldn't find the last one, but they would keep looking and contact my dad in the next few days. Over the next week and a bit, they refused to return my dad's calls until he finally left a message saying how unimpressed at how unprofessional they were. They called back and said they didn't have the last lid. In the end, we had to eat the cost of replacing the lid for the rental vendor.
