About Cherry Point Estate Wines
Situated on the south eastern side of Vancouver Island where one can see the idyllic rolling green hills that burst with life as well as majestic mountains and serene rainforests. Amongst all this beauty sits the Cherry Poin Estate Wines, a tranquil vineyard that acts as an ideal setting for a wedding celebration. Now, the 24 acre vineyard is the second largest on the island and produces delightful award-winning wines.
Facilities and capacity
The Cherry Point Estate Wines offer the option to use the lower lawn as well as the patio for the ceremony event. For the reception, the Garden Pavilion and Bistro is available for use. The Bistro can accommodate up to ninety seated family and friends.
Services consist of set up, clean up, catering and bar, event rentals, coordination with outside vendors, cake cutting, the use of server(s), dessert and a cake. Provided event items include chairs, tables, linens, China, flatware, glassware, centerpieces, dance floor, tents and tent accessories.
Couples can choose from catering options such as a buffet, cocktail reception, family style, hors d'oeuvres, plated food and tastings. Bar service can be open, cash or limited and include:
This vineyard came into being in 1990 after the founders bought a former mink ranch, just a few miles south of Cowichan Bay. At this time, wine-growing was quite new on the island and thus, a period of trial and error was necessary to see which grape varieties suited the soil. After these trials, the Cherry Point Estate Wines was the first winery to become licensed on Vancouver Island in 1994.
The Cowichan has quite a long Mediterranean like growing season as well as mellow maritime winters which make it an optimal agricultural area on the island. A variety of crops are producted in this region and in particular, it is the province's newest wine-growing region.
