Though he was shooting solo, he worked SO hard to capture everything (and succeeded!). So many of our guests commented on how amazing he was! To top it all off, he delivered a beautiful sneak peak, highlight film, and full day of video way sooner than we ever expected. We love the videos Alex created for us and will cherish them forever. Upon meeting Alex, he was very friendly and approachable!
Our meeting ended up being an hour being in and out of the wedding topic ahah.

He customizes and is direct with what you need for your day. For example, we thought we needed 2 videographers, but he asked us questions about what our itinerary and was very honest that we only needed 1 and explained about how 1 vs 2 videographers worked. He showed us he is very detail oriented and was present the whole day with us which was a big surprise !

Alex was so wonderful to work with! He loved to have fun and ensure our day was on track. He made great suggestions and works so hard for his couples! We had an incredible experience working with Alex as our wedding videographer. We were extremely happy with the entire process from beginning to end. We got his contact as a referral from a friend and I would enthusiastically recommend Alex and A Big Company to anyone that's looking for a wedding videographer.

Now let me go through a few of the details that you're probably thinking about as you make your choice for who to work with on your day.

1) The initial meetings and pre-wedding
Alex was pretty flexible in meeting us in the afternoon months before our wedding. We talked about what our wedding was like, the schedule for the day, and what our general expectations were. Alex gave us his quote and that was more or less it. You could tell he was very well versed as he asked the right questions and could answer all of our questions easily. We had a tall order for him though as we only wanted one videographer so he set our expectations on what he'd be able to get as one guy but that he'd try his best.

2) Day-of experience
As a solo videographer, he could only cover the ladies in the morning (yep early morning Chinese wedding) and one thing my wife remarked was how punctual he was but also just how good he was with the family. It helped of course that he could speak Cantonese but he had a away about him that put people at ease and knew how to position people and set things up.

One worry was whether he would clash with our photographers but honestly that wasn't an issue as he's such a energetic and friendly guy that he got along with the other guys great and there was never really any situation where they got into each other's way.

Alex's style of shooting isn't the super posey stuff which we liked. It was all natural and we probably only did a few re-shoots and planned posed shots. I liked that it was more candid.

For video he also made sure we were mic'd up whenever it made sense or he could hook into the A/V system so he had all of that covered.

I loved that he had a drone as well so we got some pretty cool sweeping shots pre-ceremony of our wedding party.

Lastly, I'll say I was super impressed with everything he could do as a one-man team. He had multiple angles covered most times and he was good about capturing moments with what he had to work with whether it was the photographer directing us or him doing his own shooting.

3) The post-wedding
We were super impressed that he got a teaser out on Instagram pretty much days later and that was something that we could use to share with our friends and family.

A month later (or less) he had the full teaser/highlight video and that was incredibly fast as well because at this point you have to remember that we hadn't seen really any of our photos yet.

At this point we had kind of forgotten what we were supposed to get because Alex then told us that he was also working on the full video. 6 months later, he said that it was ready and we met up for the final payment and the delivery of this amazing package. He was so thoughtful in putting together Blu-ray packages for us, and parents (2x - one on each side) + a USB key. This is the full length video edited that covers the whole day. The Bluray packages were professionally done with its own case and customized printed labels on the disks.

The final product was extremely impressive and like I said earlier, crazy that he did all of that by himself. Both of our parents loved re-living the wedding and for us to watch as well.

Bottom line
Alex is super professional, easy to get along with, and infectious with energy. His work speaks for itself and for the price he charges is above expectations for anything else you'll find on the market in Toronto.
