Carmen was recommended to us as she had coordinated two of our relatives’ weddings. And for good reason! Carmen and Queenie were a key part in making sure our wedding day went smoothly (which included sewing me into my dress after the clasp broke). I just want to start off by emphasizing that hiring Carmen was ultimately “the best” wedding decision.

Amongst the planners I was considering, I hired Carmen as my month of planner. From the beginning, Carmen gave off a pleasant, calming and kind vibe. That was everything I needed as the quick to stress, SUPER type A bride to be. Carmen spoke very eloquently throughout the interview, it was easy to feel her professionalism. She was never pushy and she was not calculating. Somehow she came off as someone whom I can reach out to without feeling like a bother because she gave off a “devoted” to her brides feeling.

I hired Carmen more than a month before my wedding, and even though I hired Carmen as month of, Carmen made an effort to start a google doc with us to help us stay organized and in the loop the whole time. Staying organized is absolutely necessary when wedding planning as it can be very easily overwhelming.
Carmen also made the effort to reach out a few times throughout the year to check to see if I hit any road blocks. She truly listened tentatively to all my concerns. She offered her opinions and suggested some solutions each time. I also messaged her a few times to ask questions at which Carmen always answered in a timely manner. Even when Carmen was busy with her destination wedding, with a different time zone, she made an effort to tend to my crazy stresses, but in a very friendly way. Talking to her was like talking to a good friend. She will politely call me out on my impractical dreams. But, she’s not one to judge, neither is she one to imply her own suggestions on me. You could feel that she just wants your wedding to work out. She repetitively reminds you that the day will be beautiful and each time I end a conversation with Carmen, it’s always with a smile and I am reminded that I am in good hands.

These seldom checkups made me feel better at my own progress but also helped calm me because I knew there was someone just a text, phone or video call away.

Comes the month of my wedding, Carmen really picked up her pace with following up. We further analyzed the wedding google doc and itineraries. She filled in the blanks where was necessary. She raised concerns where we would have easily missed without her expertise. She personally reached out to all our vendors and made sure everyone was updated on the itineraries.

Then of course, when issues were raised, she dealt with them and found her own solutions.

For example, I hired someone to professionally put together a champagne tower for me because I’ve heard and seen too many horrific outcomes. However, due to my very detailed decor, vendors needed to arrive at certain time during the wedding day. Turns out the time originally booked is not the time required now. The concern never caused me any extra stress as Carmen took care of all the concerns and also somehow managed to assemble the tower herself and the whole champagne tower flowed beautifully. She listened to my concerns of worrying about having any flutes break on my wedding day. She and her team worked together to distribute them, collect them, move the champagne tower table to a safe place after the pour. It all happened so seamlessly, the table was in front of the sweetheart table, I did not even notice when it was moved out of the way.
On the day of my wedding, I must say that’s when I totally 110% felt grateful for Carmen. She respectfully and efficiently dealt with all the issues that came up. She handled it with grace, a smile always and kindness. She also managed last minute changes and I felt she made magic happen for me on my wedding day. It allowed my wedding day to flow seamlessly and allowed the easy to stress girl I am to enjoy the day with my husband and loved ones. It would not have been the same without Carmen.

Carmen was truly a dream to work with. She’s a beautiful person and the bestest planner. Thank you Carmen for EVERYTHING, like i said to you before, I could never thank you enough.

When we got engaged the first vendor we hired was a wedding planner. Carmen and her team took care of all the details for two ceremonies (one destination and one here in Toronto). She made sure every detail was taken care of. The events were executed with military precision. The decor looked amazing. We hired Carmen over a year ago when we wanted to do a destination wedding. Over the past year, Carmen has been amazing at listening to our questions and concerns, helping us find vendors and places that were within our vision, as well as, within our budget. She was also very experienced and reminded us of details and information that we wouldn't have thought of if we didn't have her with us.

We ended up choosing Hawaii as our destination wedding which isn't her usual stomping grounds. However, Carmen was very effective at connecting with local vendors and providing us a lot of attractive options, for the wedding venue, welcome party and general ideas on how the wedding trip would flow (e.g. preparing welcome bags, procure random items for the wedding, coordinating the videography sessions, etc.). Carmen was also very patient with us and calmly guided us through the process when the planning started getting overwhelming.

Despite not being able to see or visit the venue and set up beforehand, Carmen stayed on top of everything. The whole event, including the welcome party, the wedding ceremony and reception, were beautiful and things just happened seamlessly, thanks to Carmen. At the end of the night, she even helped us save some mementos from the night which we totally forgot as we were inebriated and had a moment of regret the next morning.

About a month after getting engaged, my (now) wife and I began researching and interviewing wedding planners. Four to five planners in, they all started to sound the same, but what stood out to us about Carmen was that we felt *heard*. We knew immediately that she would help make our vision a reality, and when we hit walls, provided us with inspiration without dictating what to do.

Throughout the entire process, she was communicative and extremely flexible with our schedule and requests. She routinely responded in a timely manner - even at odd hours of the night - which gave us confidence that she was hard at work for us and her other clients!

She coordinated with all our vendors seamlessly (photographer, videographer, MC, officiant, florist, hair/makeup, live music, wedding cake, venue). Even a last minute request (literally 2 days before our wedding) was accounted for and communicated to the relevant parties without a hitch.

On the big day, we never thought we would ever say this but the day of the wedding was a breeze! Carmen and her assistants, Queenie and Vanessa were attentive, thoughtful and provided reassurance with multiple check-ins the entire 10+ hours that we were with them. They handled literally everything: from ensuring that all events were going as scheduled to ensuring we stayed hydrated during the blazing hot July afternoon. Vanessa also made sure that my wife ate throughout her getting ready which was much appreciated! All of the criteria we established for our wedding were met (or exceeded!) and all we really had to worry about was greeting our guests and looking good for photos.

As soon as I was engaged, the first vendor I wanted to book was a wedding planner. At the time I was working full time from home and taking care of a toddler. I had absolutely no time in between to plan a wedding!

I googled the best wedding planners in Toronto, and Devoted To You came up. Little did I know, I was actually following Carmen on Instagram because I casually stumbled upon her page, before I got engaged, what a coincidence! I knew following her on Instagram was a good idea.

I contacted Carmen, filled out her client forms, and she was extremely responsive to schedule a meeting in person and talk about her services and potentially book with her. Thankfully this was a time after businesses with slowly opening from covid - 19 restrictions.

Of course I booked with her, and had no doubt she’d be an asset during the wedding planning process. She immediately started working on finding wedding venues for my now husband and I to see, booking times to tour, and she was there at every venue tour, which I greatly appreciated.
We found our dream venue, and I was extremely happy to know that she had planned at our venue before.

After venue shopping, she kept me on track with booking vendors, and provided extensive options for hair, makeup, videographers, and photographers, DJ’s, florists, etc . Carmen was able to provide vendors at different costs which suited our budget. She did not force us to book with the “most expensive” vendors, and provided us great insight on areas we can save. She coordinated all the meetings with the potential vendors, ensured we were comfortable with the vendor we booked, and even encouraged us to think on it for a while before we made our decision.

The wedding planning process was extremely enjoyable from start to finish, by having Carmen by my side. The month before, as expected, was extremely busy for us, but she took control with confirming ALL the vendors, and coordinating final meetings and reminder payments for us.

On the day of the wedding, I felt absolute bliss. I placed all my trust in Carmen, and that gave me the peace I had during the day. I met her assistant, Queenie, who was an absolute sweetheart, and Sarah who was also extremely sweet, whom I met at the venue. There was not a time during the wedding day, that I had doubted Carmen’s abilities to make the day run smoothly. I was able to be in the moment of my wedding day, take it all in, and enjoy the day seamlessly.

Carmen’s ability to implement immediate changes to make the day seem as if there were no changes, was extremely impressive. That validated the reason why I hired her and why I would hire her again.
