Lindsay D. Married on 17/07/2021Very inflexible with COVID
Read the contract VERY carefully. You will not get to move your deposit to a new date unless COVID restrictions are present during the date of your wedding (which means you have to wait until 3 weeks prior to wedding to postpone). This was not communicated to me during the original meeting when I asked about COVID and I did not read the contract clearly enough. We decided to postpone our wedding due to COVID being so bad and were happy to pay a penalty to change the date but we ended up loosing our entire deposit. Unless you are 100% set on your wedding date regardless of COVID restrictions do not book with this vendor.Wild Heart Photography's reply:
Hi Lindsay & Larry,
I am so sorry to both of you and every couple who is dealing with the challenges and unknowns of a pandemic while planning a wedding. It has been a devastating time in the wedding industry as a whole.
In regard to your situation, I would like to share my thoughts. I received notice that you had decided to postpone your July 17th, 2021 wedding on April 8th, 2021. Since this was more than 3 months before your original wedding date, it was too far in advance to determine if the constantly changing government COVID restrictions would prevent your wedding from being able to take place. Per the contract agreement, rolling over your deposit due to government COVID restrictions did not apply in this instance as we did not know what the government restrictions would be yet (if any). I advised that we wait until closer to your wedding date before making this decision to avoid losing your deposit or better yet, being able to proceed with your wedding as originally planned should restrictions be lifted by then.
We spoke at great length via email and phone, and I offered a compromise to the situation that I hoped would be an amicable outcome for both of us. I offered rolling over 50% of your deposit to your new 2022 date and the remaining 50% to be used as a credit towards a photo session of your choice (An engagement session, for example). On the phone you sounded very happy with this solution, as was I, and I was so relieved to have found a way to move forward together! I recall how thrilled you were that this meant there would be no financial loss to you whatsoever and that I would still be your photographer for your wedding.
After our phone conversation, I emailed you a new contract for your new wedding date in 2022 with all of the terms we had discussed and agreed upon. It was a very positive conversation, and it resulted in an outcome that was accepted by both of us.
I'm not sure what changed after our call, but I just wanted to reach out and share my perspective. I wish both of you a lifetime of happiness together. I hope that your wedding day is everything you dreamed of.

We have worked with Laura on four separate photo shoots - newborn, engagement, wedding and newborn / family. We absolutely love her candid style of photography and each time we have been so impressed with her ability to capture so many beautiful candid moments that truly represent our personalities. My husband and I both consider ourselves to be awkward when taking photos and Laura has always been able to coach us to interact naturally with each other so that we’ve felt more comfortable and as a result the photos are very natural and not posed. The photos always end up truly representing ‘us’ - our natural smiles, postures and how we interact with one another - which is what makes the photos so special. Looking through our wedding photos I also love how I can see the story of our day being told through moments, some small but still so meaningful, both in the photos of my husband and I and of our guests.
In addition to her talent, she is an absolute delight to work with. She is very responsive in her communications, is easy to chat to in person, always shows up on time and overall delivers a very seamless experience. She delivers both ‘sneak peek’ photos and the full gallery very timely after the shoot so we never feel like we have to wait long for the photos. We also really appreciated the added detail of having a USB stick of all our wedding photos in addition to the online gallery so we have had a backup copy of those photos from the onset - so comforting!

Laura was incredible to work with. From the moment we met her, we knew that she needed to be our photographer. She was laid back and easy to get along with, but also quite organized and professional, ensuring she asked us about all the details of our wedding.
She showed us her portfolio when we met, something that not a lot of other photographers we had also met with did. Her style of photography matched what we wanted - to capture us, and not have stiff poses or dramatic photos. She was approachable throughout the entire process, responded to emails in a timely manner, and eased a lot of nerves around our engagement photos and the weather on our wedding day. She has many different types of photography packages and we found the one we wanted, with all the things we wanted to be within our budget. I will also note that she was not pushy about her packages, like some of the other photographers we had been interested in initially.
Laura was very timely with getting both our engagement photos and wedding photos back to us. Our engagement and wedding photos are unbelievable and we get compliments on how stunning they are all the time! We are so pleased with all of the photos that we had to go out and buy a digital photo frame to display them all as we couldn't decide which ones specifically we wanted to print and display!

Photographing people during monumental moments in their lives made me realize I get the chance to connect on a level with my clients that many jobs don't allow. I get to be a part of something so special, and provide them with images they will cherish their entire lives. I've always wanted to be a part of something important and to me, I can't think of anything more important than capturing people's joy in a creative way for them to be reminded of happiness and love, always.
