I am the Owner and lead Photographer at Slash Photography. My background as a Graphic Designer was what first sparked my love for taking pictures: I found that editing images was one of my favorite things to do so I decided to branch out into photography, upgrading my skills through Algonquin College and subsequently founding Slash Photography in 2010. I am originally from Alexandria, Ontario but have been living in Ottawa for a decade now. I studied Graphic Design at La Cité Collégiale in Ottawa and graduated in 2003, after which I moved to Montreal until 2010 where I got my first experience in the graphic design industry. I eventually returned to the Ottawa Valley to be closer to my family and friends and was seeking new opportunities. Keeping busy with several things on the go is something that is in my blood: myself and my two older siblings all have a tendency towards having more than one job, and the name ‘Slash’ is a nod to that. I've always had more than one job or more than one title at a job, so there was always a ‘slash’ in between everything I do: Graphic Designer slash Photographer slash Marketing Assistant slash …”. I strongly identify what I do with who I am, finding inspiration in the people I meet and work with every day, but when not working hard to sculpt memories for my clients, I love spending time with my family and friends, cooking/baking, working out, practicing and expanding my skills and generally enjoying life at home with my fiancé Tony and our two cats Betty and Winston.

I have been working with Slash Photography since 2013 as an assistant photographer, and in early 2015 became a partner/co-owner with Valerie. Photography has always been a passion of mine, and I can’t remember a time when I didn’t have an assortment of film cameras to play with, although I find digital camera technology equally rewarding. After completing my certificate in Photography from La Cité Collégiale in Ottawa, I was concerned that the photographic community was so competitive that I might not be able to find full time work, but since going back to school to study Accounting and working with Slash, photography keeps me busy on several fronts, giving me the opportunity to be creative and do what I love. Capturing special moments for people is a great joy, and I find it very satisfying when customers love my work, and look forward to the day when Val and I might have our own studio to work out of. I'm the eldest of four children, and have 2 beautiful nieces. I love spending time with family and friends and caring for my two cats Darwin & Newton.
