Based in Toronto, Ontario, Purple Canvas Photography is owned by Alishba, who calls herself a dreamcatcher instead of a photographer because what she does is much more than just freezing moments in time. She specializes in contemporary, photojournalism, portraiture, and traditional styles of photography. Photographing weddings for five years now, Alishba has covered Indian, Pakistani, Ismaili, Jewish, Irish, and East Asian celebrations and cultural events. She tries to capture the real and dreamlike moments of all of her events and to impart a familiar feeling in her photography, even when something seems larger than life.

Experience

A politics and sociology academic, Alishba also interned at Disney as a photographer in 2010, when she realized her passion for art. After travelling all over the world, she created the umbrella of Purple Canvas Photography in 2013. Since then, her business has branched out to two streams: weddings and family and luxe for women (boudoir and glamour). A styled shoot conducted by the studio was featured in Wedding Planner Magazine.

In addition to wedding photography, engagement, boudoir, and trash the dress photography are covered by the business. Purple Canvas books one event per day and is open to shooting at multiple locations. Additional services include: -
