Neil Slattery approaches his work in a straightforward and simplistic manner. He prefers to scout locations beforehand, get to know the friends and family during rehearsals and make a plan to make sure that his part in such an important day, goes smoothly. Through such detailed preparation, he is able to gain an idea of what any potential future complications might occur and make plans accordingly.

Experience

After falling in love with photography as a child when his grandfather gave him an old film camera, he spent a serious amount of time and money on this hobby but eventually lost interest. However, the story does not end here. He was inspired again in high school which influenced him to attend Emily Carr.

After he graduated, he went to work for advertising photographers in Vancouver and that was where lightning struck when he realized interaction with people was what he really enjoyed about photography. He broke into the wedding photography industry in 2005 after having photographed a friend's nuptials and the subsequent advent of digital cameras.

Services offered

He identifies with contemporary, photojournalism, portraiture and traditional styles which he uses to produce both digital and physical high resolution photographs. Couples have the option of selecting albums, canvas, flush mount, matted prints, save the date and thank you cards. Additional to wedding day shoots, prospective newlyweds can also choose boudoir, engagement and trash the dress photo sessions. He offers the choice of using multiple locations and a second photographer.

How he works

This photographer prefers a more cinematic approach to posing rather than the traditional posing style. To help couples, rather than just making suggestions, he shows the couples what he means and also he directs them through a story to help bring forth more natural movements to make the photos seem like a photographer was never even there.
