Week after Week, he was glued to the television, absorbing the world of high fashion through the lens of Fashion Television, a program that became his window into an elegant universe of style and sophistication, broadcast from CITY-TV Toronto into his inspired heart.

High school brought a pivotal alliance with Mr. Fred Bilanzola, an art teacher at St. Paul secondary who recognized the spark in Carlos. In the quiet after the final bell, the school dark room became their sanctuary, a place of learning and exploration. Under Mr. Bilanzola’s tutelage, Carlos mastered the alchemy of the dark room—developing his captures, learning the delicate dance of shadows and light that only black and white film could teach.

Carlos’s burgeoning skill and relentless drive soon had him offering his burgeoning talent to anyone willing to step in front of his camera. From candid shots to posed portraits, he seized every chance to refine his craft.
