Meet the team
Hi, I’m Michael Chilcott — the face (and camera) behind MC Photography. I’m 42 years old, happily married, and a proud dad of five amazing kids (three girls and two boys who definitely keep life fun and interesting!). I’m based in Brampton, Ontario, but my heart travels anywhere love takes me.
When I’m not behind the camera, you’ll usually find me enjoying life’s simple joys: sharing pizza or poutine with my family, grilling up a good steak, sipping coffee (lots of coffee), or blasting music while spending time with my wife and kids. I love meeting new people, learning their stories, and turning those moments into lasting memories. On the flip side, I can’t stand lying, hate speech, overpriced services, and don’t even get me started on grocery shopping (seriously, I’d rather edit 1,000 photos than shop for milk).
My Journey with Photography
My love for photography started back in 2013. At first, I offered free shoots just for the fun of it and quickly discovered how much I enjoyed capturing people’s emotions and stories through my lens. By 2016, life threw some challenges my way—family priorities and health issues meant I had to put photography on pause. For a while, I honestly thought that chapter had closed.
But passion has a way of finding its way back. In 2022, I picked up my camera again. Slowly, with the encouragement of family and friends, I began offering shoots—many for free—just to reconnect with the art I loved so much.
Then in January 2025, something beautiful happened: my wife surprised me with a brand-new camera and lenses. That gift reignited my spark, and I knew it was time to step back into photography—not just as a hobby, but as my calling.
My Photography Style
I’m not about stiff poses or fake smiles. My style is fun, natural, and focused on capturing authentic moments—those little looks, bursts of laughter, and emotional exchanges that truly tell your story. Whether it’s the excitement of your engagement, the magic of your wedding day, or the warmth of family life, I aim to create timeless images that feel like you.
Photography isn’t just a job for me—it’s a privilege. Every time a couple or family trusts me with their memories, I see it as a chance to freeze not just an image, but a feeling. That’s what I want you to walk away with: photographs that take you right back to the moment.
So that’s me—pizza-loving, coffee-fueled, dad-joke-making Michael—here to capture your love story with heart, joy, and authenticity.
