We love our photos from Jessilynn, they are truly beautiful and she is very talented. Let me also say that I was a calm bride. We didn't have a huge wedding, no one fought with anyone leading up to the wedding or on the wedding day. I had a maid of honour and that was it. Very intimate and chill. However there were a few things that happened with Jessilynn that left a bad taste in my mouth, both before and during our wedding. Leaving a negative review when so many of the reviews are 5/5 positive can be daunting, and so I've waited a while to write this.

While on our call a month prior to our wedding, Jessilynn seemed to get frustrated with my wedding planner for politely clarifying the timeline. It was uncomfortable, both my wedding planner and myself were taken aback by the attitude. That was the first weird moment.

Before the wedding, I let Jessilynn know that I really wanted to prioritize photos of sweet moments with my mom and that it was one of the most important things to capture. On the morning of the wedding, I introduced Jessilynn to my mom and my mother in law. My mom was feeling so wonderful in her dress with her makeup done - she had been through a lot in the year leading up to my wedding. We were so happy to be celebrating together and all feeling our best. Jessilynn then proceeded to call my mom grandma. I think Jessilynn needs to work on listening so she doesn't embarrass people on their wedding day. My mom didn't deserve that. Shame on her for not paying attention. It's literally your job to know who is who, make us all feel comfortable and capture special moments. That was within the first hour of meeting her. Not a great start.

While taking group photos, which we all know can be a challenge with large groups, and there were a couple frustrating moments. Nothing huge, just trying to get people to listen and go where they were supposed to. I looked over to Jessilynn and I saw her ROLL her eyes at my family. Listen, as the bride, yes I was frustrated. But you are the photographer, you do not know my family, you are hired to be here. You don't get to roll your eyes in front of my entire extended family. As the bride I don't deserve to feel your frustration when I'm supposed to be having a beautiful day. Your job is to stay composed and direct everyone, not wear your attitude on your face.

Overall we do have many beautiful shots, she is clearly very talented, but if I were to do it again, I would choose someone else. There are many talented photographers who don't have attitude issues. I cannot recommend Jessilynn. I feel as though she needs to do a better job listening to her clients and keeping her attitude in check.

Jessilynn is one of my sisters best friends, so I’ve know her for years - and when my sister and fiancé planned a surprise proposal, followed by a surprise engagement party, it made it all the more special that she was our photographer.

Her talent is obvious – just take a look at her website or social media – but my experience exceeded all expectations!

After capturing the proposal, and moments following, which involved my entire family and closest friends surprising us, Jessilynn whisked my fiancé and I away for a private photoshoot.
She was focused, with a great eye for detail and was able to take so many exceptional shots in such a quick time, respecting the fact that 20 something people were waiting on us to get back to them and start our engagement party.

Working with her was so enjoyable. She coached us the whole time, and made us feel genuinely comfortable in front of her lens, which really shows in the photos.

My fiancé and I were visiting from out of country, and she managed to put a selection of our shots to music in a beautiful slide show, in just days, so I could share this with my family before leaving.

She was the perfect choice for our proposal and engagement party, giving us the most beautiful photos from one of the best days of my life.

What attracted us to Jessilynn's work was how "in the moment" a lot fo her photography felt. Images didn't feel staged. Our biggest concern in hiring a photographer was being forced into artificial positions and staging but Jessilynn assured us this wouldn't be the case and we were very impressed! Sure, for something like an engagement shoot or first look, there is some element of staging but Jessilynn made us feel very comfortable and let us be natural. She was very quick to respond to questions and flexible in meeting us. The end results were amazing. We would absolutely recommend Jessilynn to anyone.

I found Jessilynn on Instagram...so I call it fate! Her bright photos with tons of emotion is really what drew me to her. When we met she made me feel super comfortable, and photography being so important I had no doubt that she would execute exactly how I'd imagine.
One challenging decision I faced was to get a photographer and videographer (I ended up getting both strictly to avoid regret) and to be honest it was totally not necessary. Jessilynn captured my photos as if it were in live picture! Unbelievable!
Also, if you want to capture far and close images, having her and an assistant is crucial! I loved the variety I got and truly did not feel like she missed anything! (and I had a 200 pp wedding!)
Someone taking photos of you is never easy but she really allowed us to be ourselves and quickly made us feel comfortable in front of the camera.
I have already recommended Jessilynn to my future bride friends and will continue to do so....she is professional, sweet and focused....you won't be disappointed!

I first met Jessilynn at the bridal show and was drawn to the candid, natural aesthetic in her photography. We quickly decided to book her and we are so glad we did! Both our engagement and wedding photos turned out better than we could have ever imagined. Neither my husband or I are comfortable in front of a camera, but Jessilynn gives the perfect amount of direction without feeling too posed. She also knows the city very well and will always find the perfect spots to get the best photos possible. Despite delays and weather issues on our wedding day, she still went above and beyond to make sure we were happy. What first attracted us to Jessilynn’s work was the honesty of her pictures. Jessilynn is able to capture the raw effortless love between her clients.

Looking back at our engagement sessions, I think the thing we were most nervous about was being professionally photographed for the first time. Will it be awkward? Where do our arms go? What if we just can’t stop giggling the whole time? Jessilynn made it easy. She is so down to earth and you can just tell from the first few shutters of her camera, that she loves what she does. You instantly feel that she is here for you and here to capture the love, laughter, and fun of your relationship.

She is organized and experienced. She was amazing in helping us plan out our special day. Jessilynn emphasized the importance of us also enjoying our wedding day. She suggested that she would be taking us out for special moments like the sunset so we could either take a few pictures or just have moments to ourselves and breathe. To be honest this gave us an instant sigh of relief and they were moments we looked forward to on our wedding day.

Anticipating our wedding day, I thought about our family, friends and guests who were special to us. Our guests are people who have impacted our lives and it was important that they share in the celebration of our next greatest adventure. We wanted our guests to enjoy themselves and have a good time filled with laughter and smiles. Jessilynn was already on top of it as she had asked us to prepare a list of guests we wanted to be sure not to miss. This was one less stress off of our shoulders.

Our favourite part of the whole experience was feeling our nerves just melt away because we knew Jessilynn was looking out for our best interests. Our wedding day started off with thunderstorms! We ended up having to adjust our schedule on the fly in order to take full advantage of the pockets of sunshine we were gratefully given. As you can imagine, we were stressed and unsurprisingly behind schedule… As I fell into stress mode, Jessilynn was realistic and firm in her encouragement that we shouldn’t rush these parts of our wedding day. The moments I spent walking bare foot on the grass (because my heels were sinking into the freshly rained on grass), the moments spent laughing with our parents, groomsmens and bridesmaids, the moments embracing my soon to be husband perfectly captured by Jessilynn’s distant camera shutters.

Jessilynn is passionate, bright and thoughtful. We can confidently say that the best decision we made was having Jessilynn capture the first day of our greatest adventure.

The first time I met Jessilynn was at the Canada’s Bridal Show in January 2017. My Mom and I instantly connected with her and appreciated all the work she debuted. Then it hit me! This was not the first time I met her. I’ve actually met her before! Jessi was one of the photographers from a Wedding I attended a few months back and the footage captured was beautiful. Funny how small the world is. Then, I actively reviewed Jessi’ portfolio via all social forums and knew then and there that I wanted her to be my Wedding photographer! What’s great about Jessi is her knowledge and expertise in the industry as she was able to provide scheduling tips and tricks in my Wedding planning process.

After Jessi gave us sneak peeks of our Engagement session, we knew it was the best decision choosing Jessilynn Wong Photography for our big day! We booked her and a second photographer for 14+ hours on August 18, 2018. Throughout the whole day, Jessi was professional, well-organized and always ready to shoot.

Our One-Year Wedding anniversary is fast approaching and I still cannot put into words how beautiful our Wedding Day turned out! It happened so fast, but every time we look back at our Wedding photos, the feelings are all there! Every aspect of our Wedding was captured wonderfully and I cannot thank Jessi enough for all her hard work.
