I have lived on both sides of Canada and now reside in beautiful Calgary, Alberta. I studied photography at SAIT Polytechnic and have been working as a professional photographer since graduating, both for my own business and for Lifetouch.

Shooting school and graduation portraits was intense studio work and great experience, and taught me how to make quick decisions with lighting and posing. I know all the tricks to get smiles from the testy teens to the lively little ones.

I work with my husband and best friend, Milo. You will meet him on our photoshoot. He is my second shooter, light master, and creative genius. He is also the one with the big lens.

My other family member is a Miniature Schnauzer named Nietzsche. Nietzsche’s name fell into place quite easily, he is a German breed and schnauzer means “moustache” in German. So we named him after our favourite German philosopher who also iconically had a big moustache. He lives up to his name, he is definitely an introspective quiet thinker at times.

One of my favourite thing about travelling is visiting the art museums in other major cities. I love spending days just looking at art. I find it all inspirational and I feel that it has helped create a vision for me within photography. I have learned a lot over the years from studying paintings of various artists. My husband has also been a huge inspiration for me over the years, he is also an artist as well as a photographer. He is the more creative person out of the two of us, and he continually motivates me to be a better photographer.

I identify as a book worm, I can also spend days reading while curled up in a blanket. Some of my favourite authors are J.D.Salinger, Hemingway, Jane Austen, Sylvia Plath, and Dostoyevsky. I also like to keep it light by reading other stuff in-between.
