Beautiful family photo session
Agathe was a dream to work with! She worked around our travel plans and found a beautiful location was that worked perfectly for us. The whole session was laidback and very candid which made us feel comfortable which came through in our gorgeous and natural looking photos. She captured the vibe and mood I was imagining and she had our photos edited and ready for us in a timely matter. 10/10 recommend Agathe’s services and we are excited to have her capture future occasions! -

We hired Agathe to capture our wedding day on Vancouver Island in July. She also did an engagement shoot and honeymoon shoot for us! And we are just so incredibly thankful we found her. It has truly been a unique and beautiful experience working with Agathe. She went above and beyond for us - capturing images we didn't even know we wanted, taking us places we didn't expect to go (haha) and supporting us in unexpected ways.
Agathe's talent and passion is SPECIAL, we were blown away by her. The images we have from her mean so much to us and we feel we hit the photographer jackpot by finding her! Agathe is phenomenal at her job! My husband and I hired Agathe to take photos at our intimate wedding in Tofino this past August. We are still in shock by how amazing these photos turned out, we've had multiple people tell us that our photos belong in a magazine!! Not only does Agathe take breath-taking photos, she is so friendly, kind, and really helps add extra magic to a fairytale occasion. Magical photos from a talented professional
I was blown away by Agathe's photos! She manages to capture so much essence in each image, the results are amazing. Agathe makes being in front of the lens so comfortable and easy, we had so much fun on the shoot! I love all the images which are edited beautifully; it makes such a difference to have professional photos for my business. I will definitely book Agathe for future shoots. -

We were so impressed with Agathe. She was thoughtful, helpful and has an excellent eye for capturing the natural beauty in the great outdoors which was what we wanted for our special wedding day!
This photographer went above and beyond. She literally went into the ocean to take our photos...and not just her feet! Full wetsuit, into the water. The photos look like something out of a magazine.
Agathe is kind, energetic and ready for adventure! She was accommodating not only to us but our very small children and also to hiking into our chosen destination.
She brought extra help who helped us and the kids as well as worked easily around our non existant schedule.
We would highly recommend her if you are looking for something special. We received hundreds of photos.

Biggest regret
The only thing I regret about my wedding, was having Agathe as our photographer. Overall, she was difficult to work with, does not actually provide what she says in her wedding packages, and her photos were nice, but not worth the money or nightmare. First, her wedding “package” included an engagement session/get to know each other which I think is an important component. When we asked her about setting it up, she said it was just something nice she does and doesn’t have to do it. She eventually agreed to do it, but we’d have to drive to wherever and whenever worked for her. She then refused to give us the engagement photos until the ENTIRE contract was paid in FULL well before the date set in our contract and before the wedding itself. The wedding “package” was also to include a usb with all the photos and some good quality prints. All she has sent us was a link to download the photos off her websites, which were of course enormous files and too much for my laptop to handle! I had to borrow my dads computer to download them all because she still won’t send us a usb of them. She also said the prints were just supposed to be a gift….our venue unexpectedly sent us a booklet with photos they took…that’s a gift. The least a photographer could do is send their clients some prints, which shows how little she cares.Agathe Bernard Photography's reply:

And during the shoot you said you really liked the drone images, piano, etc. Cody even said he was so happy before I left.
To begin, can you tell me specifically what’s you dislike about the images? Is it the color, the texture, the way it’s cropped, or something else? Also, what is your ideal scenario as we move forward? Or, if the issues are within my control, would you like me to retouch the images?
Regarding the engagement session, this was always planned we would do one as I value meeting the clients and get them comfortable with the camera. As per our contract states, the location of the shoot was Golden and I went out of my way to meet you in Emerald lake as you had mentioned you loved that location so much and had not been there since you were a child. I did explain that in other circumstances, I usually charge $0.50 for locations that are outside of the contract agreement and I waived that fee because I was going to Calgary that day and it was an opportunity to fulfill your request. I always say for that kind of shoot 2-3 weeks for the photo delivery and I did deliver within 15 days and was not holding the photos "hostage" as mentioned in your review.
I do offer engagement photos as a complimentary session because I have seen how wonderfully it ease people but that fee is not included in the package per say. Most of my colleague charge about the same fee for wedding packages of 10 hours and it does not includes engagement images.
You asked for a change order. First, it was a videographer and that meant I had to secure someone which on very short notice is extremely hard because everyone gets booked so quickly and videographers are rare. I did not hear for a few weeks after this was asked. Then you wanted to secure an extra shoot for the Sunday and in order for me to book the slot, I do request 50% deposit. This happened at the same time as your engagement shoot delivery. I did not get many answers either although you had mentioned the change order would get settled immediately.
Regarding the USB delivery. The contract clearly says that there are no prints or USB included. I took it on me to deliver something tangible, which is something I care for in this era of digital files. I explained that my wooden box supplier was very ill and not getting back to me (still to this day) but I did not want to put pressure as this man is so kind and his products are amazing! I reorder boxes in the new year, along with extra prints and everything was shipped last week. The tracking number is LH092366795US with UPS. If I go the extra mile on delivery and gift something, it is on my own terms. The boxes and images were put together much later than I wished for but like I said there were some critical circumstances.
The files are big because I care for clients to be able to print at the best quality. If you do not have the computer power this is not something I can be responsible for. People expect me to deliver high resolution and that means big files. On a side note most professional photographers would not allow for people to print wherever they want. Many make it mandatory to print via their platform to increase profit. This is not something I do. I also delivered 239 engagement images 1552 wedding images. This is about 3-4 times the amount that typical photographer give back to clients. I believe I sat down for about 5 minutes within 10 hours of work. I really went out of my way to capture your day.
I even ironed your robe because wrinkles are not something I can fix in post. You were subconscious of your shoulder and I carefully masked the marks (again photographer charge retouching fee for that kind of edits and I did not). I tried my best to make you happy.
Shooting weddings is what gives me hope there are good people who meet each other and can live a happy life. This is where I find my strength, capturing these moments of love. I love what I do and I care immensely for my clients to be happy. My clients are always so happy. In retrospect perhaps our styles were not in line. I have received amazing comments for high profile wedding photographer on some images of you.

Agathe was great at capturing the moment in a very authentic way, which was the most important thing for us. She made us feel very comfortable. During the ceremony, she was very discrete, so much that we forgot she was there capturing this intimate moment. I was delighted to get pictures of all of our guests as well as the details we did not have time to enjoy on this busy day. We received the images in a timely manner and they are beautiful. I would highly recommend Agathe as your wedding photographer. -
