Brella Ceremonies

We were so happy that we had Sarah as our officiant. From the first meeting, my (now) husband and I couldn't stop talking about how her first impression was so great, we knew that Sarah had to be the one to marry us.

The ceremony script was a back and forth between us and Sarah and she was so receptive to anything we wanted or didn't want, most impressively she was able to relay the tone of the ceremony that we wanted to have. She was able to work around extra Filipino ceremony things that we added as well. She also gave us great ideas for the ceremony such as a ring warming instead of a ring bearer and we thought that was so special.

The rehearsal was great, it was very to the point, everything was clear and organized. Again super receptive to our questions and requests. No confusion with the legal stuff.

The actual ceremony itself was so amazing, more magical than we had even imagined. Sarah was just such great as a speaker and also able to respond to things in the moment (like me having to stop and cry haha).

We definitely recommend Sarah to anyone who wants to have a ceremony that is personal, unique, and memorable.

We can't say enough good things about how amazing Sarah was to work with. Our ceremony was completely custom and perfectly suited us. She started with an individual exercise to get to know us as individuals and as a couple, which was such a fun experience for both of us. Our ceremony was so special and focused on us. We will never forget how perfect it was.

Myself and my partner couldn't have asked for a more magical ceremony or a more supportive process as we collaborated to create the ceremony of our dreams! Sarah educated us on all the possibilities, offered creative guidance, was exceedingly kind and flexible, and mentored a friend of ours to feel confident enough to facilitate the ceremony herself! Sarah allowed us to feel taken care of and she provided a process for myself and my partner to focus and reflect on why we wanted to do the thing! we were encouraged to explore what we love about each other and to dig deep into our ceremony desires!

Sarah is an awesome officiant. She was so efficient, communicative and flexible, really knows her paperwork and is super organized in wrangling witnesses. On our day, she turned up exactly on time with a thoroughly thoughtful set of vows built out of the most general outlines for our ceremony.

Sarah thoughtfully pulled together a beautiful little service for us and our 50 rambunctious friends, respectfully edited and helped us think through what our vows should be, and supportively understood when I was weepy and surprised! It was such a meaningful thing, and Sarah was the perfect person to officiate it.

I cannot recommend Sarah and Brella highly enough, particularly if you're a queer looking to marry their queer partner. Sarah's the greatest.

Sarah is a true master at her craft. She helped us create a beautiful and meaningful ceremony for our wedding. With a wealth of knowledge and experience, she is great at helping those who are bit off tradition find that right mix for your ceremony. This review is so hard, because no words can do justice the amazingness that is Sarah. My husband and I met with a few different officiants, but knew immediately after meeting Sarah that she would be the perfect one. She is kind, caring, inquisitive, and put my husband and I at ease immediately. Her calming presence was so helpful throughout our wedding planning, and particularly special within our ceremony. Sarah took the time to get to know me and my partner, our story and our vision for our ceremony. She provided us with a questionnaire to understand what we loved about each other and also what we wanted and didn't want in our ceremony. She then perfectly spun a narrative that expressed our love so honestly, and so wonderfully. I literally don't think our friends who have known us for 15 years could have written as many honest and moving things as Sarah did. She attended a backyard rehearsal where she gave us excellent pointers about the wedding and put myself, my husband and our family and friends at ease, by explaining the ceremony step-by-step! I felt so prepared on the day of our wedding that I was able to enjoy the day fully. Sarah spoke so powerfully and so beautifully during our ceremony. We received more compliments on our ceremony than anything else. People were so moved by her beautiful words, that someone asked how long we had known each other and also what her relationship to us was, because they were both amazed by how personal and "us" the ceremony was. Sarah also helped us to include some rituals that were meaningful, including a hand fastening. I wholeheartedly recommend Sarah to anyone getting married. She is the kindest soul, who will work hard to share your love story the way you want it to be shared. GAH! still crying over how perfect the ceremony was!

The only thing my now husband and I knew is that we didn't want a stuffy boring wedding ceremony. We were not sure that we even wanted a wedding ceremony at all. Sarah made us into believers. Sarah is a star in her own right, but she did not steal the show. She helped us create a ceremony that truly reflected us and what we wanted. Who else would have let us sing our vows and 'tie the knot' with rope instead of rings.

I really cannot recommend Sarah enough. She is a fantastic officiant, and really she is much more than that. Throughout the entire wedding process – including all the planning and the day itself – she was organized, supportive, and professional. She helped my husband and I craft a ceremony that was just right for us by giving us helpful feedback and suggestions, and she officiated our ceremony so beautifully, with grace and a touch of humour—just as we’d hoped. Sarah was invaluable in helping us pull off a wedding that was so beautiful, and so much fun! We could not ask for more.

Our wedding wasn't an easy one to put together. With a baby crawling around we didn't have a lot of time for wedding planning, and we lived 6000 km from our wedding destination and all of our family. This is where Sarah came in. She worked around our schedule to have Skype dates, and encouraged us to think about what was important to us as a family, then helped us incorporate those ideas into our ceremony. Together, we made a ceremony that was as unique and beautiful as our little family unit. Her coaching helped us gain a greater understanding of why we love each other, which served as a lovely reminder to why we wanted to get married in the first place. No doubt, we are stronger because of the guidance Sarah gave us in our planning process.

I will try my best to put into words the fantastic journey my wife Melissa and I had with Sarah of Brella Ceremonies. We live in the UK but were marrying in Toronto as its my wife's home city. This presented some challenges being so far away. With Sarah and Brella Ceremonies however, everything was a complete dream.

From our first conversation the attention to detail Sarah payed to our relationship story was outstanding. She was truly invested in it and explained from the start that we could have full control of our ceremony content (which is why I'd recommend the 'go for the glitter' package). There's full customisation and then there's Brella customisation. Sarah will do everything to get an image or idea of you as a couple. For us, the ceremony that was crafted was so special. Professional, caring and summed Melissa and I up perfectly through a well written and emotive reflection. This was all managed through well constructed questionnaires and consultations. The 'legal bit' is also clearly explained and we felt that we could approach Sarah with any issues we had and she was most accommodating.

We have had a couple of weeks since our big day and our family and guests are still commenting on how much the ceremony moved them. How the words and reflections were perfect for the occasion. This is the biggest day in your life and one of the hardest things is to relax and take everything in, but I will have no problem remembering our ceremony as it was truly unforgettable.
