How he works
Barb always begins by meeting with couples so that they feel comfortable choosing her as their officiant. Barb encourages couples to include in their ceremony the things that are important to them. At the ceremony’s conclusion, Barb will present to you a copy of the actual ceremony itinerary to add to your keepsakes. The venue is your choice, although Barb is happy to provide suggestions and recommendations.

Excellent! Barb is amazing.
Barb was amazing at giving guidance to help the ceremony go smoothly. She has a great sense of humor and was available with any question not only about the cermony but has great insight into details couples most commonly forget about. She truly wants to make your ceremony what you want it to be.Sent on 04/08/2019

Barb was absolutely amazing! She did everything she could to make sure that our day went off without a hitch. I would recommend her 100 times over! She worked with us, through out the rehearsal to make sure we knew what was going to be happening the next day so we weren't lost. All while making us laugh! 😄Sent on 06/07/2017

She was on time, polite, and very informative however we were running late on our wedding day by about 20 minutes and she decided she was in a rush and without telling us read our ceremony from a boring script. Where we had worked on one we had written ourselves (my husband and i) and had given to her the day prior at rehearsal .. it was upsetting we didnt have our original ceremony.Sent on 26/09/2018
Barb Fenske, Marriage Commissioner's reply:Thank you for the opportunity to be part of your wedding day. I am so sorry you felt you did not receive the ceremony you had envisioned as my goal for each and every ceremony is to make every couple’s day very special. You are correct in that some of the wording is boring, unfortunately (as we discussed at our meeting) there are 2 phrases the Government has set out to be mandatory in order for you to be legally married and I can not change them. The other wording was what you gave me to read for you, your Pastor presented your Bible to you and you read/said the vows you had written. Unfortunately the roses that you wanted to present to your mothers were forgotten by someone in your wedding party along with the gift you had wanted to give to your daughter. At rehearsal, both myself and your photographer expressed how important it was to be on time so she had time to capture the photos you had requested so when you arrived 35 minutes late and some of your guests had been outside in the hot afternoon sun without water, and some of them senior, my concern was for them as well. I am so sorry if things appeared rushed for you, that was not my intention. I truly wish you both all the best
