A Nightmare
Saira did my daughters hair and make up for her wedding.
Saira was my daughters go to person as she has always done her make up and hair beautifully in the past. Saira had hired a freelance hairstylist named Fazal, they both showed up 45 minutes late at the very beginning. Saira struggled a lot to do my daughter‘s hair the way she wanted it (my daughter had even gone to a trial). At one point I guess Saira got pretty frustrated and said to me “why don’t you do it then”. The hair was done completely different than how it was done at the trial. The bridesmaids were very pleased with their make up, but were very upset with the person, their hair which was done by Fazal. Two of the bridesmaids took their hair down, the one bridesmaid had asked Fazal just to do curls instead, Fazal responded with “well I charge extra because I already did your hair once”. The two bridesmaids then had to re-do their hair themselves. They also had to re-curl everyone’s hair before leaving as all the curls were falling.
As for me, the mother of the bride, my make up was absolutely horrible, and it wasn’t even the right colours used and I looked like I had raccoon eyes. My daughter told Saira we weren’t happy with it, and Saira replied “well I did what she wanted. I knew it wouldn’t look nice on her”. At this point, we were running out of time Fazal started my hair, I showed her a picture of what I wanted, she said no problem. While she was doing my hair she was asking me is the curl OK? I replied yes. The next thing she said to me, “go look in the mirror” which I did. I said to her it’s not done right she said “it’s done”and I gave you what you asked for. This was nowhere close, it was ridiculous and looked like a rats nest in the back. I had said to her “Does this look like the picture I showed you? Fazal started to get loud and abrasive and speaking over me in a raised tone. We continued to go back and forth until my other daughter came in . She tried to calm her down. She told her, that this is a learning experience for everyone and it’s ok that she doesn’t like her hair and as a professional she needs to be ok with people not liking things. Fazal continued to speak to me in an aggressive manner at which time my daughter told her that this is my sisters wedding day and if you can’t be professional then get out. Fazal continued to speak aggressively at which point the photographer had to intervene and make Fazal leave. I was left in complete tears to try to fix my hair and make up by myself . My daughter wanted certain photos before going to the ceremony but that did not happen. This caused us to be 45 minutes late for the ceremony. This entire situation was extremely upsetting and unprofessional. Saira is a kind person and does a great job. Unfortunately it just wasn’t her day.
Saira has apologized to my one daughter and another bridesmaid but has not apologized or even reached out to my other daughter who was the bride.
