Rebecca was super sweet and super nice. She did an amazing job with both mine and my mom’s makeup. I don’t wear makeup so I wanted a more natural look and she delivered. I can look at my photos and see me but elevated — exactly what I wanted. I would say the only thing is it would be great if she could expand her lip collection beyond MAC. They unfortunately didn’t have a lip in a colour that looked good with the rest of my makeup and so the solution was a custom shade that was not long lasting and didn’t stay my entire wedding. But beyond that, tremendous service from a very personable and professional woman. Thank you Rebecca! -

Because was professional but warm, listened to what I wanted and delivered perfection. I was so happy with my makeup for my son’s wedding and I felt like a queen. My daughter who wears minimal makeup was so pleased with her wedding look also. -

Let me start with this… I can’t speak on the quality of work Rebecca does nor can I attest to her personally, as we never met. This review has nothing to do with her abilities but rather her professionalism.
BUYER BEWARE
I booked with Rebecca last summer.. making sure I had all my vendors booked early enough.
Rebecca sent me an email the night before our trial (4 months before my wedding) to let me know she won’t be working with me anymore.
Rebecca blamed it on me, since I rescheduled a few times in the past but she had reached out to reschedule prior as well, yet funny enough the blame fell on me (her client).
She did return my deposit but obviously that doesn’t help me much.
I had to scramble to find someone and my suggestion would be to ensure you have a back up plan if you choose to book with Rebecca as she might end up cancelling the night before.Rebecca Downing Professional MUA's reply:
Hi Gabrielle,
I wanted to address a few things, as your experience is just as valid as mine.
Our communications spanned over seven months. Like you mentioned, you had rescheduled on me four times. The process of rescheduling a consultation/trial was very taxing and difficult, as there were long periods of waiting time between your responses. As I have other clients and obligations to attend to, this was taking a toll on my business. As for the singular time I rescheduled with you, it was due to a swollen/ irritated lip you had informed me you were suffering from, and I had a recent COVID exposure scare. Since your lip was swollen, I did not want to further agitate it with makeup, and I wanted to take the proper precautions to not expose anyone to COVID, especially so close to the holidays.
Finally, there seemed to be alarm bells ringing for the address I was provided with for our consultation. I had asked you several times why the address you sent me for our trial did not match the postal code you sent with it, and there was never a solid reply or explanation. You then changed the city you originally provided, to a completely different city, which eventually led me to be alarmed for my safety. This resulted in me officially ending our communications. I also want to point out that our conversations never got to the signing of an official MUA contract, and therefore I was never officially booked for your wedding.
In the end, I believe I did all I could to help you in an extremely well-timed manner. You received your deposit back immediately, and still had over four months to book a new artist. I do understand the inconvenience that was put on you, however I would just like to assure future clients that communication and professionalism is my main priority. I respect my client’s time, and communication is always at the core of my experiences. I just ask for the same respect back.

I hired Rebecca to do my face, along with two of my bridesmaid's, and everyone looked incredible! Our makeup lasted all night (I cried a few times too!) And you couldn't tell! We were able to have conversations while she worked, and was professional! I highly recommend Rebecca! -

Rebecca was fast with her responses and made the experience fun and stress free on the wedding day. Makeup was great and lasted all day even through all the happy tears on my wedding day. -
