  Wedding makeup!

  I got my wedding makeup done with LUBU and couldn’t be more pleased! Karen was great to deal with from chatting about what I wanted, to my makeup trial and on the wedding day. On the wedding day Karen’s whole team was on time, pleasant and very professional. Including me, there was 11 women in our group and I can say that every single one was happy with their makeup! I would recommend lubu to any future brides.

  Above & Beyond

  As a wedding planner, I had recommended Karen to my best friend for her July 2022 wedding. She had 12 women (including myself) looking to have their makeup done and she was looking to hire a makeup artist team that was experienced, professional and would deliver great results.
  
  Karen's team arrived on time and were able to get through all of the women within the given time!
  
  I was was Maid of Honour for this wedding and also had to have my makeup done. I was dealing with the remnants of a skin irritation from a few weeks before and voiced my concern about the discolouration on my neck. Karen's team offered to cover up the area with makeup and spent time blending it so it was less obvious. I was so happy with the results and I felt it really made ME more comfortable when it came to photos later on in the day.
  
  I will always recommend Karen's team because they do go above and beyond to make sure you are happy with their work!

  I had a wonderful experience with Karen doing my hair for my wedding! She captured my vision perfectly and was very attentive to every detail. The wedding day is definitely a stressful time but knowing that we had communicated before and she was kind and patient and answered any questions I had, made that aspect of my day enjoyable and memorable! I’d definitely recommend Karen, she will create the perfect style for your day!💞

  Summer covid wedding

  Karen was amazing to work with and sooo friendly!! My Girls and myself all looked fabulous and the hair and Makeup partied with us all night!

  Couldn’t have asked for more!

  Karen from LUBU and her team were just on top of everything! They had a high order to complete and they most certainly fulfilled it! They made myself and my bridal party look stunning! From their hair to makeup they made them look flawless, listening to what each needed and was looking to accomplish. As a bride, I couldn’t have asked for a better team! Karen worked with me before at our trial and helped me decide which look would be best suited to what my vision was. My makeup was more than expected and my hair was just WOW. Everything I wanted she achieved for me. She was so compassionate and comfortable with me and my family and friends. I even remember Karen sharing some kind words to me because I was getting a bit nervous as the time got closer. I would recommend LUBU to everyone for every service she offers! Thank you again Karen! It was such a pleasure to have our paths cross! I look forward to using your services again in the future!

  Strong Interpersonal connection

  I had the pleasure to work with Karen and her team for a bridal photo shoot. The quality of her work goes without saying… I mean look at that photo! What really strikes me is the way she forms a genuine and strong interpersonal connection with all of the clients and vendors she works with. I highly recommend her services for hair and makeup for your wedding!

  Do your homework!

  I booked Karen early for hair and makeup for our August wedding. Her website and previous reviews looked impressive and I thought I had done my homework. I had a trial with her in June that did not go well - the make up was good, but I showed her a fairly simple half up hairstyle that she was not able to reproduce after 4 attempts - my hair became messy and tangled and looked awful. We discussed a different plan for the wedding day. I was uneasy, but frankly didn't have many options being a few months from the wedding despite my gut telling me that something was off. My phone rang at 7:30 on our wedding day that Karen was sick with her and her daughter and unable to attend. She did say that she had found a replacement and would be sending her instead. Given that our wedding was in a remote area, I had provided explicit instructions before hand anticipating that it would be challenging to find. Karen stated that she had passed along the directions - she did not. Our replacement called lost and ended up being over an hour late getting to our location. They did their best, but the entire day ended up being rushed and myself and the girls were all rushed through our hair and makeup and not able to fully enjoy what we planned on being a fun afternoon. I also hadn't had a trial with our replacement, so we had to take out the style quite a few times - I was ok (not great) with the final product for myself and 5 bridesmaids. We had planned on being ready at 3 to take photos prior to the wedding at 4. We were late finishing and late for the wedding. We ended up having to take photos after the wedding , which pushed our dinner timeline back as well. I reached out to Karen after and though reluctant and after a lot of back and forth she did compensate me for SOME of the inconvenience of the day which is my only reason for giving 1 stars instead of 0. Ultimately I can appreciate that things can go wrong and people get sick, but this was such a big part of the day and you don't want compensation, you want it to be right. I would highly recommend that you do your research and meet with Karen early. If things are not right - BAIL quickly, don't hesitate and trust your gut. This is a long review but I felt it important for those that don't want to get fooled by a nice website and overpriced services. Sometimes you don't always get what you pay for!

  My go-to hair stylist!

  Karen is great! Love all the hairstyles she’s done for me and my friend, as we both used her for our weddings. She’s flexible, early, friendly, and talented. Karen has a strong work ethic and I really admire her.

  Karen is reliable, personable and so good at what she does!! She did the spa services at a friend’s bachelorette and the hair and makeup for the wedding. Her and her team were on time, prepared and fun to hang out with. Absolutely love the hair she does and she has a great eye for makeup. Recommend!!
