Very disappointing experience — brides, think carefully before booking. Felt like a makeup look done in a random mall in 2005. Their online photos are a lie and trick of lighting and photo editing.
I unfortunately cannot recommend this studio to other brides, particularly given how expensive their services are and how disappointing my experience was.
I spent over $700 on my bridal hair and makeup trial and left feeling extremely unhappy with the results. I provided clear reference photos and specifically requested a soft, effortless, romantic bridal hairstyle and fresh, dewy, radiant makeup with light coverage. Instead, my hair looked overly polished and simplistic, lacked the texture and romantic feel I had requested, and began falling apart almost immediately after I got home. The makeup was excessively matte, dry, cakey and flat, with little dimension or radiance. The eyeliner and lashes also looked heavy and poorly executed compared with the delicate, natural look I had shown the artist. It was neither the modern, flawless finish I wanted nor what I would expect from a professional bridal service at this price point.
I understand that I booked a junior stylist, but I still expected a reasonable level of professional skill and the ability to execute a relatively simple, soft bridal look. I communicated my concerns about the makeup during the appointment, particularly the excessive powder and lack of a dewy finish, but the results were still nowhere near what I had requested. I was so disappointed that I washed everything off and took down my hair shortly after getting home.
What made the experience even worse was how the studio handled my concerns. Rather than offering a refund or a reasonable resolution, I was offered a complimentary retrial with the same artists or 50% off a trial with a higher-tier stylist. In other words, I would either have to put my trust in the same artists again or pay even more money in the hope of finally receiving a satisfactory result. After spending over $700 on a trial that left me deeply disappointed, neither option felt appropriate.
I was also unhappy with the policy surrounding lash and hair extensions. These were charged once opened, meaning I had to pay for them without being able to properly trial them beforehand and decide whether I liked the result. This added to the cost and made the trial feel like an expensive gamble rather than an opportunity to experiment and make informed decisions about my wedding-day look.
Ultimately, I had to cancel my wedding-day bookings for myself and my bridal party and find another stylist less than two months before my wedding. This caused considerable stress at an already busy time. Despite the disappointing results, the additional expense and the fact that I could no longer trust the studio to deliver what I had requested, they refused to refund our deposits. I feel this is particularly unfair given the amount I had already paid and the circumstances that led to the cancellation.
Bridal hair and makeup are deeply personal, and brides are paying for more than just an appointment — they are paying for professional expertise, a collaborative experience and the confidence that they will feel beautiful on their wedding day. Unfortunately, I received none of that reassurance here. The pricing is difficult to justify given my experience, and the proposed solutions left me feeling that the financial burden of an unsatisfactory service was being placed entirely on me. -

My sister went for a bridal trial, left the studio with the opposite of what she asked for. The artists didn’t listen to any feedback given during the trial. Very disappointed with the whole process. The makeup used looked cheap and outdated. The hairstyle didn’t last more than an hour. -

Working with the girls at Jen Evoy was amazing. At the hair and makeup trial they were so friendly and answered all of my questions. They were able to come to Newmarket and do all of my bridesmaids and my mom’s hair and makeup. I recently have been having medical issues and the girls were so accommodating and made sure I was 100% comfortable the morning of the wedding. The girls and my mom all loved their hair and makeup and it stayed put all day. Highly recommend! -

Ally at Jen Evoy was not only a really great person to deal with but she did an absolutely AMAZING job on mine and my bridal party’s makeup on my wedding day.
If you are the type of person willing to pay slightly more for quality then I highly recommended Jen Evoy Makeup Studio. -

The best of the best!
Our Engagement photos were done in May of 2022 and our wedding just occurred on May 12, 2023.
I had chosen to gift hair and make up to my bridesmaids, MOB & MOG - Jen Evoy make up studio went above and beyond in service. Not only did they knock my engagement hair and make up out of the park on the hottest day of the year but, my wedding day went seamlessly. We had 9 people total getting ready the morning of my wedding and we started at 5:30am. All the staff were right on time arriving to the hotel. We ended up finished an hour an half above schedule. Abby, Nicole, Asia & Jane knocked it out of the park on all of us. I adored my hair and make up and it lasted ALL DAY. The same goes for my mom, MOG and all my bridesmaids and flower girl. No one’s make up or hair budged all day right to when leaving at 12am.
Sarah, the client relations manager at Jen Evoy was always extremely professional and answered any and all questions I had through out this process. She made the booking process very seamless.
Even when I had my getting ready location changed, she changed my invoice to knock off the travel fee because it became in radius to the studio which was great! You could really tell customer service was at the for front of their business.
Impeccable job! Best experience and will be using their services where I can and highly recommend!! -

I left feeling like a super model! Both girls completely made me feel so beautiful, they are amazing at what they do!

We had to move our wedding date and JEMS still made it all happen for us. Got ready here for my engagement shoot and wedding day with my ladies. Super accommodating despite the pandemic and worked with limitations with kindness. Professional, clean and fun place to get ready the morning of your wedding.
