Jac did my makeup for my wedding and I absolutely LOVED it!! I went for a trial about a month before my wedding and the makeup was beautiful, but I noticed some mascara rubbed under my eyes. I have oily skin so I also attributed it to that. When my big day came around I mentioned this to Jac and she quickly threw every trick in her bag towards a solution. My makeup stayed all night and I had minimal mascara rubbing, but Jac sent me with a to-go kit that I was able to easily touch up. I felt like she was able to apply my make-up in a way that accentuated my features and made me feel like the most beautiful version of myself. If you're considering hiring Jac, do it! She was so lovely to deal with and a calming presence on the wedding morning.

I’m not one to make reviews but I had to do this because I am distraught, devastated, angry, and refuse to let anyone else go through this. From the start Jac Anema was pleasant, but noticed she charged $75 for travel, which I inquired if that was negotiable, to which she said it pays for “her meals and gas” which was expensive considering most travel fees are $20-$50 and they don’t charge you for meals over a 4 hour period. I paid her in full and anticipated seeing her at my wedding. Just FOUR days before my wedding she texts me and says she had a death in her family, and the funeral was the day of my wedding. I felt absolutely horrible for her as unfortunate as the timing was, I understood this was out of anyones control, which is why I agreed if she found me the right replacement I would be ok with her not working my wedding. She told me on two occasions that she would stay for me and work my wedding if there were no replacements available. I told her she could reach out and find someone but I am wanting the same level of experience, style, and standard. She agreed with me and said she understood. She was hired 8+ months ago as a secondary makeup artist to work from 7am-11am and apply makeup on four people. Hours later she tells me that she found someone, who can only do 2, maybe 3 people, and has to be at another wedding by 8:30am the same morning. I was appalled she even offered that, as that meant she would have to leave by 7:30am. I respectfully declined and said that would not work. She then again confirmed she would stay for me if she couldn’t find anyone by the following day (3 days before). The following day she found a makeup artist that specializes in movie makeup (not bridal) and all her bridal makeup was the exact same, to the eyeshadow. This artist also happened to work for a company that I have personally had my makeup done for a wedding and was not happy with it. I explained this to her and apologized and said these options are nowhere near the level of quality/standard that I am looking for. Jac then proceeds to tell me “after some reflection” that she is no longer willing to stay and do my makeup and “there’s not much she can do now that I didn’t accept her replacement options” which were unacceptable to begin with. I begged her to stay and told her I am desperate and reiterated that she told me two times she would stay and is now going back on her word. I told her if she can only do a few artists and leave early I would be happy to accommodate that so she could attend the funeral. I also told her I reached out to multiple artists and couldn’t find anyone available this sort notice. All she responded was “I’m very sorry to disappoint you. I’ve sent back your full payment”. She is extremely unprofessional, unreliable, and made the days leading up to my wedding absolutely horrific and had zero remorse of it.

Jac was amazing! She was an excellent communicator over email, was professional, was at the venue on time, and was so patient with each of my bridesmaids and moms of the bride/groom. She did a fantastic job on my bridal makeup - she looked at a photo I showed her and almost matched it identically, I felt so pretty! 100% recommend booking Jac for any of your makeup needs!

If you want wedding makeup HIRE JACALYN!!! Her work is amazing, her prices are reasonable and she’s great at staying on schedule! My wedding day was so relaxed thanks to Jacalyn!

I recently got married in Chilliwack and found Jacalyn through a google search/instagram search. Jacalyn took care of my makeup, 3 bridesmaids, and my mom on the wedding day SO WELL. Her style is simple, yet beautiful. Each of us felt so comfortable in her chair and we had so many compliments about how natural and stunning the looks were.
