About
Domibelle Creations is a LGBT owned Ottawa based silk, dried floral, and decor rental company that aims for affordability, accessibility, and sustainability. They specialise in weddings, special events and wreaths.
How it began: After Jessica and Dominique's affordable wedding in 2023, the two lovebirds decided to fill the need for affordable florals without the hassle of doing it yourself or having to buy on sale and storing for months on end. They aim to take away the burden by doing the groundwork for you and sweeping in on the wedding day to set up and wow the wedding couple and their guests.
What differentiates them from the competition:
With a 48 hours response guarantee they offer clear communication from start to finish, the ability to completely customise your florals, and options for installation and delivery. They are a queer-owned business that would be happy to work with any couple regardless of identity, race, religion, etc.
After your wedding day they can preserve your flowers and turn them into home decor as a wreath keepsake, art piece or other preservation (see their pintrest link for more ideas: https://www.pinterest.ca/domifromdomibellecreations/master-version-wedding-ideas/post-wedding-bouquet-ideas/) . You can also purchase the bridal/main bouquet as is, to display in your home.
Company values:
- Affordability: Their main/bridal bouquets start at $120 and boutonnieres start at $25. Their floral packages typically range between $1250-$4000 at this time, with larger pieces such as arbors florals or backdrops ranging from $200-$1200. They believe in transparency and have their prices listed at all times on their social media. They do not stray from these prices unless the materials required are rare and come at a higher cost or are out of season.
- Accessibility: They have options for delivery and pickup for the Ottawa/Gatineau region. They shop for the materials after your initial consultation to ensure that they have exactly what you want when you want it.
- Sustainability: Since the business is based on rentals, they are able to reuse the florals. They work with local farms to source flowers that they dry themselves. They buy local and secondhand when possible to reduce their footprint. They re-purpose cut stems into wreaths and fallen petals for confetti. They will reuse their flowers until they are no longer up to their service standards after which they will be donated to schools for playtime. They avoid using plastic packaging and recycle as much as they possibly can. All of these efforts are what allow them to pass savings on to their clients.
