Awful service and a waste of time - avoid!!!
I had an appt scheduled at blu ivory and before I came in I was asked to pick the dresses I wanted to try I took a look at the website and selected the dresses in the style and size I liked and uploaded it to their system.
Additionally I also called the store a few days in advance and asked if they carry my size in store as I wear a size 18/20 and I know it’s not too common as I didn’t want to waste my time if they didn’t have anything in my size or the staffs time. I was assured that they had these sizes in store. I showed up to my appt and they pulled out the dresses I asked to try all in a size 12 despite me making it clear that I wear an 18/20 repeatedly.
When I asked where my sizes were that I picked they said it could’ve been sold or the website wasn’t updated…i left the store without trying anything on and I’m typing this review sitting in my car. This is unacceptable service and this is not how you treat customers. Be upfront and honest that you don’t carry these sizes in store and it’s no problem.
understand some dresses are ordered in, but it is impossible to know what to order when the samples they give you to try on do not even come up past your ankles.
I took the day off to try on dresses which was supposed to be a great and fun experience but instead I was treated like this -

Poor sales associate attitude ruins try on appointment!
We worked with Rachelle for my dress try-on, and almost immediately I could tell the vibes were off. This was later confirmed by my two guests when I asked if they felt the same way after we left. I came to try on dresses 4 days ago and have heard nothing but an auto generated email asking for a review, which I normally don’t leave any but think anyone trying dresses on here should read before coming to BLU Ivory.
We weren’t offered any drinks or to use the restroom before try ons. At the very beginning Rachelle made a comment along the lines of, “Oh, we’re going to start with the dress you hate, got it.” I never said I hated the dress, only that I probably wouldn’t like it, but you never really know until you try it on. She of all people should get that. I specifically wanted to start with the dress I felt less excited about so I could get it out of the way and end on a positive note as well.
She also seemed annoyed when I mentioned that I had tried on dresses at another shop right before theirs and wanted time to look over all my options before making a purchase decision. I don’t understand why that would be a problem, especially since BLU Ivory doesn’t carry every style I was interested in. If you are potentially spending hundreds or even thousands of dollars on a wedding dress, taking a few hours to think about the 20 dresses I tried on that day is not unreasonable.
I felt extremely rushed throughout the appointment. I understand the time slot is one hour, which was the same at the other shop, but I did not feel rushed there at all. I even remember saying, “Wow, this is going really fast.” While I didn’t necessarily want to stay longer since I already felt uncomfortable, the rushed pace added to the stress. Any time I voiced that I didn’t like a dress, it felt like I was offending her personally, as if she had designed it herself.
At the end of the appointment she asked if I wanted to try on one of the dresses I liked with a veil. I agreed, since there was a dress I truly loved that happened to be well under my budget with the conversion to USD. I casually mentioned that the previous shop hadn’t offered me that option, and she responded with another negative remark. While I agree the first shop should have offered, by the end of my appointment there I had tried on close to twelve dresses and was just ready to eat, so it wasn’t a big deal and I already tried it on for a second time.
I had originally planned to only visit BLU Ivory for try-ons, but since I was already driving three hours to another country, I decided to book an additional appointment elsewhere. Looking back, I am so grateful I did. If BLU Ivory had been my only experience, a day I had looked forward to my whole life would have ended up uncomfortable and stressful. I felt like I had to overcompensate for her poor attitude the entire appointment so my guests didn’t feel it but they ultimately did anyways.
The most disappointing part is that I actually loved one of the dresses there and would have said yes to it if the experience had been better. However, I cannot justify spending close to $2,000 USD after the way I was treated. Maybe she was having an off day, but as a sales associate you need to leave personal issues at the door and still provide a professional, positive experience. Based on other reviews, it does not seem like mine was an isolated case.
I am sure you will respond with something along the lines of “we are sorry to hear about your experience,” but the reality is the damage is done. There is nothing you can say that will make me return to the store or consider making a purchase here. -

Absolutely Recommend
This boutique is a MUST for brides nervous about their first appointment. My best friend and maid of honour brought me here to get my nerves out about trying on dresses. We were immediately greeted by the entire staff as if we were old friends. Gillian helped us as we searched through their sample dresses (due to timeline). The entire time, Gillian treated us as if we were her best friends. After working with her, all of my nerves were gone and I felt confident in every dress-regardless if I liked it or not. After getting to know my style she picked a gorgeous dress that was very much my style. Although I didn’t end up falling in love with the dress, this store was worth the experience. -

Great wedding dress store
My experience at Blu Ivory with Gillian was wonderful. She was very knowledgeable and patient, showing us many options that were similar to what I was looking for. Although I didn't end up getting my dress from there I would definitely recommend this store if you are looking for your wedding dress!! -

Loved my dress so much!
Just got married this past weekend and everyone was raving about how beautiful my dress was. The girls at blu ivory made my experience so unforgettable!! I wish I could buy 100 dresses from them! Thanks ladies! -

Amazing people and service

Best Dress Shop In Toronto
I had the best experience at BLU Ivory. The shop itself is beautiful, and the staff made me feel so comfortable - all so warm, welcoming, and professional. The have an excellent variety of dresses and price ranges. Special shout out to Susan - she is the seamstress on site and found my dress! She made the perfect alterations and made it my dream dress! I had so much fun at every fitting. No need to look any further!!-

Perfect place to Say Yes to the Dress
Blu Ivory Bridal was the second shop I visited when I went looking for my wedding dress. They have a lovely selection of dresses and a group of staff that were all very kind and supportive. It felt like a very calm and personal experience which I really appreciated having that atmosphere since wedding planning is already quite stressful. I am really happy I decided to buy my dress from this store as they were also very responsive to my emails since I live abroad, and helpful and accommodating of my limited time frame. I also bought my veil and hair piece from them. Their seamstress, Sue, was so lovely and supportive and especially great at her work. I felt wonderful on the day itself and many of the guests said how beautifully the dress fit.BLU IVORY's reply:

HIGHLY recommend!
I went into my wedding dress shopping experience with no expectations or ideas of what I wanted. I ended up finding my dress first appointment, fourth dress I tried on. Blu Ivory was AMAZING the entire time! Especially with Covid happening in the midst of my planning and having to cancel my wedding twice, Blu Ivory never disappointed me. I highly recommend checking them out! -
