Assignment Understood!

We had such a great experience working with Essence Sound and Lighting. From our initial meeting to our wedding day, the professionalism and communication was exceptional and you knew they were well experienced in the business. They explained their services, gave us ideas and suggestions and most importantly listened to what we wanted. Greg was very fun and easy to work with and our guests were on the dance floor all night. We would 100% recommend them for any of your events.

Just Amazing!

Greg and Maria were absolutely amazing—professional, experienced, and so much fun! From our very first meeting to our wedding day, we always felt supported and cared for. Greg’s positive energy, paired with his deep knowledge and experience as a DJ, made the whole experience seamless and unforgettable.

Maria was the perfect MC—fun, lively, and full of great suggestions that made our special day even better. Her proactiveness and collaboration with our other vendors kept everything running smoothly. We truly trusted her to keep the day on track, and she did it flawlessly.

Absolutely the best team! They made our wedding unforgettable!

Amazing Experience

If you are looking for a DJ for your wedding, stop right here, and book Essence Sound and Lighting!
From start to finish, Greg and Maria made us feel comfortable and took the stress out of planning. They helped us put together the agenda for the afternoon/evening and everything went exactly as we had hoped. The best advice they gave us when we were struggling to choose songs was to not worry about convention, or what others are doing, but choose music that is meaningful to you and reflects who you are. That really helped us to choose our songs AND enjoy the process a lot more.
We had gone into our early wedding planning wondering if we needed a DJ, and looking back, could not imagine the day without them. Thank you Greg and Maria for helping to make our special day perfect!

Wedding Reception

Greg and Maria were wonderful to work with and this was clear from even the initial consultation call. The planning process was smooth and they executed very well on the day of our wedding. One thing they did especially well was that one of our guests had an unexpected delay in starting their speech and thus there was going to be an awkward silence, but they were ready without prompting and played some music to fill the silence. They also did a great job reading the dance floor to adjust the music to the crowd. Overall very happy we went with Greg and Maria and would definitely recommend them for their excellent service.

Fun and Interactive DJ!

We were very pleased with Greg and Maria and so glad we chose them for our big day! From the initial meeting to the final one, they made us feel very comfortable and relaxed and did not rush us into making any decisions. They shared their experience that helped us make our decisions!

On the day of the wedding, they came in early to set up everything, read the room interacted with the guests accordingly, and made sure that the music did not stop until the very end! We had so much fun and the guests also had a great time!

Greg saved the day and had everyone on the dance floor

My husband and I are so glad that we hired Greg for our wedding. From the very beginning, he was so easy to work with. He asked for our input on what types of music our guests might like and what our vision was for the ceremony and reception. He worked collaboratively with our wedding coordinator and our officiant to make sure everything was ready for the big day. We had the opportunity to choose songs that we absolutely wanted played during the night, and to put songs and artists on our “do not play” list. Greg paid close attention to the details we wanted for the wedding and asked follow up questions to make sure he understood our plan for the day.

On the day of the wedding, Greg literally saved the day. When there was an unexpected power outage at the wedding venue, leaving the welcome cocktail hour in the dark, Greg thought creatively and figured out solutions to get light and sound so the ceremony could go ahead (including turning the dance floor party lights into plain white lights so that we could see to walk down the aisle while the venue worked to restore the main power).

Greg played great background music during dinner, and when it was time to dance, he had everyone on the dance floor. He played a perfect mix of classic songs and pop hits and even dancehall and reggae for my Jamaican family. There was something for everyone. Greg created a contagious atmosphere on the dance floor - guests who I thought would never get up and dance joined in as he led everyone through the Cha Cha Slide. Our wedding was the first time most of our extended family and friends were meeting each other, and the dance floor really brought everyone together.

Thanks to Greg’s creativity and commitment, we got to have the wedding we dreamed of, and we’re so grateful.

Great quality experience

Weddings can be so stressful and chaotic, but Essence Sound and Lighting helped take a big portion of that stress out of the way. Greg and Maria were very professional, friendly, and supportive throughout our planning process and wedding day. On the day of our wedding, we had 0 issues with lighting or sound and everyone had a great time. If you want a smooth, stress-free wedding, I recommend adding Essence Sound and Lighting to your list of vendors. You won't regret it!

A great investment for your wedding

My husband and I were so happy we found Greg and Maria. As an introvert of a couple, I had so much anxiety our wedding would be boring and that people won’t participate with the programs, but since hiring Greg and Maria, I noticed how organized and professional they both are. I had so much fun building my playlist and picturing how the whole event will go. We swapped our bouquet/garter tossing for the shoe game and scavenger hunt and everyone loved it! It was a night full of dancing, love and laughter. Thanks to you both. We highly recommend!

Good Vibes Only

Essence Sound & Lighting is a professional and accommodating DJ service. Everything was well organized in advance and ran smoothly on the day of. They brought the tunes, party, good vibes, and even some dance moves! I definitely recommend them to others.
